Do only Y or C class tickets qualify??? I asked LatinPass, and they kept saying it depends on the indivdual airlines. So I have been asking Taca,Avianca etc, and they've been assuring me that my tickets qualify. I have double checked with the airlines, triple checked even.. no one ever said anything about only Y or C class.

My husband and I are leaving this Wednesday!

Does anybody know what a "J" fare is?
I am flying business class on the flight from BOG - MIA on Avianca. All my other Business class came back as "C"

C and J are both Business class.

Why risk the bonus over a few dollars? Book everything in Y and there will be no question if it qualifies for the bonus.

Has anybody heard when TACA PERU is expected to begin international flights, or when SAETA is expected to begin flying its LIM-UIO route? I'm not leaving until late April for the Million Mile Run, but I won't be completing these segments until sometime during the first week of May. My dilema is that if I book my flights now on TACA-PERU for a domestic hop from LIMA to CUZCO, and do the same on ACES from LIMA to QUITO, and they start these new services, I'll probably have to restructure my plans.
Finally, has anybody heard whether a "W" fare basis ticket on Taca-Peru would qualify for the mileage?

I have no idea on Taca Peru Intl and Saeta
But Latinpass answered 1 of my emails that
said as long as I booked and had tickets issued before they started flying ...Latinpass would honor the flights as substitutes...

But being a bit "cautious" I'd ask them again since their Taca Peru answer was a "bit" vague. Let us know what you find out.

I'd suggest an email since it's more easily
returned to them if questions arise later.

Tango,
I agree.
I didn't want to risk anything when I booked this trip, that's why booked in business class. Other posts have also said "why risk it, book in full coach "Y", or business "C". When I got my tickets, all of my business seats were C except the one flight which came back as J. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some kind of discounted business seat that would not qualify.

Has anyone stayed at the Best Western or the Holiday Inn in San Jose, Costa Rica? The Marriott is sold out (my first choice).
Thanks

I haven't stayed at either of those, but the Intercontinental is exceptionally nice and is rated as one of the top hotels in the world. They provide transportation from the airport, but you have to take a cab back to the airport. ($12 or $13 USD)www.interconti.com

I staid at the Holiday Inn in San Jose about 3 years ago it was a nice property its down town has a pool an a healthclub right of a small park. The Best Western was about 3 blocks a way. They are about a half hour from the airport. The Hampton Inn was the only think close to the Airport at that time.

We are planning on flying to Cuzco on the a.m. of May 10 and don't leave until the a.m. of May 12. We would love to get to Macchu Picchu, does this allow us enough time? Also, any hotel recommendations in the area would be appreciated. Mahalo!

Maui Girl, I'll be in Cuzco arriving AM of May 8 and leaving AM of the 11th. Would love to meet up with you guys for a coffee or a beer. From what I understand, you can go to Macchu Picchu in a day and back, but I have heard it is best to stay overnight. "One hasn't lived until one has seen sunrise at Macchu Picchu" or something like that. The trains leave in the morning, so you are unlikely to be able to go the day you arrive unless you take a helicopter out. In one of the other threads, there are details about the helicopter, and it wasn't too pricey. I'm going to MP on the 9th AM and returning 10th PM. Let me know your plans!
