Update on UA saga
On Tuesday, I received a letter from United Airlines concerning the Washington-Chicago ID saga. They said that I never should have been treated the way I was, that they will pass the comments on to the appropriate people, and they are profusely sorry. In addition to that, they sent me a $75 dollar voucher good on UA USA/Canada flights, which I think is fair compensation for what I have endured.
The best part is that there are no blackout dates, so I might use it for Thanksgiving...

I know how you feel. After two years flying over 100K miles/year with UA, I'll be the first to admit that they screw up---with greater frequency than I might hope. What makes them stand out is that they stand accountable for their mistakes and always make it up to me with an apology and, if appropriate, fair compensation.
A good resolution makes everyone satifsied.
