I know specifically that they did not allow me or my wife to switch our Gold cards to Simply Cash.

Similar. Switched our deck of TD Aero Visas cards into Gold Select Visas, TD Drivers Rewards Visas, TD Cash Back MCs. All no fee cards.

No switching with AMEX
Apply as new

I think so

No idea, it ended 8/31, it's only once in lifetime also
and the $300 is hard to use for some

Quite quickly IME

Once approved, you get a PP code with the BMO welcome letter. I don't know if there's any timeframe during which you need to use the code but I used mine about 2 months after I got the card, and received the actual PP card a few weeks later.

Just applied and got approved for the 50,000 offer for the RBC BA card. Odd. I have a credit watch on my credit file from a $24,000 ripoff on a CIBC card many moons ago. Makes churning a little more work as there is no such thing as instant approval.

Wonder how RBC missed that?

Can you churn RBC cards?

Yes you can. I had a FYF RBC Avion last year, before the annual fee, I called in to downgrade to the no annual fee RBC Rewards card. three months later, called and asked about getting the Avion card again (this time the Platinum). they suggested the Infinite...so I said yes. Paid the annual fee this time, though (but i look at it as buying AA points at a discount).

My strategy with the banks from now on will be to downgrade, then a few months later upgrade to the best public offer. Other than the points...you don't get a credit pull. TD looks like they'll have a few options.

I second this strategy for TD and RBC. Dont know about CIBC as I've never used them.

Data point: I could not upgrade from a basic TD gold card last month to the GCR offer. Not concerned about a credit pull. I simply cancelled the Gold and applied for the GCR offer in the same call.

Pleasantly surprised I got my $60 back (GCR) & FYF. Only the first 15K posted even though I went over $1k first month. Might have to call.

Wait for the next statement before you call on that missing 10K. One member of our churn team had the same thing happen to him, and they posted with the statement after he made the spend and got the first 15K.

MBNA Best Western CC 40K points instead of 20K, though GCR link still only 20K points

http://blog.rewardscanada.ca/2015/09...-menus-on.html

https://apply.mbna.ca/applicationfor...8&locale=en_CA

with the Aeroplan coming devaluation, AE lifetime no churn policy, IHG/Delta cards over, this year is really not good for Canadians there's no new type of CC for 2-3? years?!

Is there any US website like GCR can get bonus for apply CC?

Do you have a US credit history and residential address? You won't be able to apply to anything except the TD/RBC CC's otherwise. (and only TD has a US FFP card, for aeroplan)
