I think *technically* you have to keep the money in the account for awhile after you get the bonus - check the terms for length.
Thanks for the response!

I didn't check myself yet but there was a reply from this thread earlier that I found:

There is no language indicating that you need to keep the $10,000 in the account for any longer than a day. Can anyone confirm?
No one replied to him as well so I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

For those that were as confused as me about how to close an account, You should go to Overview>Forms & Applications>Close accounts.

I had to chat because I couldn't find out how to close accounts and was questioned why I had so many accounts. It was unpleasant. Hope you guys are able to avoid it.

August 20: opened 2 more accounts with UA, one with $50 promo code - 50TRADE
August 27: $50 bonus posted into Sharebuilder account
September 8: 4,000 miles posted to UA account (2,000 for each account)
September 8: Opened 5 more accounts, one with $50 promo with different code than 1st time - 502INVEST
Data point. The 2nd $50 bonus using a different promo code did not post after a week as the first one did. I really wasn't expecting it to. I just hope the 5 new accounts that funded 9/10 receive more United miles. Will update if they post.

Has anyone gotten their miles recently? Been about 3 weeks for me so far, expecting 5 or so. Just curious what everyone's luck is.

FYI - if you use Sharebuilder in another country (I live in Ecuador), they WILL eventually catch on (took them a few months), and let you know that they are not licensed to do any business outside the USA.... and lock your account from adding funds and buying stocks. You can still sell stocks and withdraw though.

HOWEVER - b/c of that, they will waive the $75 full transfer out fee.

Interesting option if someone is trying to take advantage of another bonus with a broker. I took advantage of some of the bigger cash bonuses and bought soe securities in the account. However, now it will be free to transfer them to another (bigger) broker. Interesting.

They also said when I'm back in the states I can login from a USA IP address and just call and they'll unlock the account when they see I'm logged in from the States. Suppose if I want anymore United miles, that will be the trick. Had no problem signing up for 4 accounts from Ecuador before though. Ha!

Still eligible?

I did this on 9/14 but still don't have the United miles posted. I had an email saying I qualified for the promotion of $50 but still no miles. I see that the link is now dead so do I have a shot? Waiting for mine and those of DH.

They have seem to come in batches all along the whole promotion. I'm giving it until the end of next month before I consider it a battle lost.

Not looking good with the links now dead per post #1. You win some...you lose some.

My husband signed up for 6 new accounts early september. Only received 2000 UA miles instead of 12000. Indeed, they seemed to have stopped the party.

I had 2,000 post today as well. I'm still holding out hope for the other 12,000 from my other accounts.

I actually had 2,000 United points post this morning out of 10,000 pending. I can't complain. Signed up for 7 accounts over last 3 months and received 2,500 US Airway miles, 6,000 United miles, and $50 which more than covers the $35 I invested.

Same. 2000 miles posted today. Expected another 4000. I think I am sending them an email complaining . If I remember correctly, T & C didn't say you couldn't do this multiple times and get miles each time.
