Was the TK match a full-blown 2 years validity or a 4 months challenge?

How often can one do a status match from one airline to another? Is it a one time per life sort of thing?

Royal Jordanian (OneWorld) is offering paid status matches to EU and Middle East residents from the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Netherlands, Oman, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Syria, Turkey and UAE. Gold costs $150, silver costs $50. Application link: https://rj.statusmatch.com/ |
Nice find! RJ match also works for UK residents it seems.

Yes, it appears as "England" in the official list that I copied from the official T&Cs.

Buyer beware with RJ... We matched with them a few years back (before they charge $ for it but the requirement was to fly one leg with them). We were matched to OWS and got the cards and baggage tags. However, after a while but before the card expires, RJ took away our status without telling us! We were at LAX trying to get into the OW lounge and the dragon kept swiping our cards and it couldn't go through. She saw our cards and they weren't expire so she manually let us in.
It was a few years back so I have no idea how they are now. Just keep it in mind when you apply. |
Heads up to anyone who needs One World status, you can do a status match to Royal Air Maroc, however the price is steep: $150 for OW Ruby and $450 for OW Emerald.
Match is good through June 30 unless you take a RAM flight which will extend to 12/31/2024. No expiration but in past years the offer was yanked after 48 hours... https://safarflyerstatusmatch.com/ Debating this myself as I would like to avoid paying steep Finnair seat rez fees next year, but otherwise seems a bit rich for lounge access and priority boarding unless you have significant travel planned on AA or other OW carriers. |

It's also open only to certain country residents, it's not open to everybody. Is there an application fee? Application fees are as follows: USD $150 for Silver. USD $450 for Gold. USD $1000 for Platinum Lite. USD $1500 for Platinum Standard. |
In 2022, the price to Safar Gold (aka Oneworld Sapphire) was 50 USD and now it's 450?! and only for 6 months (up to a year). Unless you have heavy travel planned on OW, def. not worth it.

My low level UA status (UA Silver) is coming to an end this month. Is there any airline I can match it to and get a few more months out of it? I'm flying all of the 3 alliances (, but mostly OW) in the coming weeks so I am open to anything.
