Since it doesn't seem like united will be resuming EWR-HKG any time soon, it looks like I'll be flying Cathay Pacific, 6-8 times over next few months, do they offer any status challenge or match?

I'm wondering if the "or" here should actually be "and". It seems odd that you can provide a copy simply of your national ID which obviously won't reflect any airline status.

How long does it take for Kenya Airways to respond to the Status Match request? I just sent an email and requested a status match for my SQ KF Gold. Thank you.

Does Asante send you an email to notify you that is done or you log in to find out that the status has been matched yourself?

An email. When you submit a match request, it creates an internal "incident" number for tracking. On first impressions, it appears to be a well-run organisation.
