No you can't, because I have over 2 million miles (spread across several airlines) and over 1 million hotel points (spread across a number of hotel programs) right now (ie, unredeemed).
So by the way you guys meaninglessly combine all miles and hotel points into one number, I have over 3 million total for one person!
Not that I got all of this anywhere near just last year, not that I got it all of it from credit cards, and I'm not counting what I earned and already redeemed.
I haven't kept track, but i'm guessing that I've redeemed close to a million miles and probably at least 500k hotel points over the last 9 years (ie, since I started collecting anything beyond Southwest RR 1.0 awards), plus 110k Capital One Venture "miles" (points) last year.
Having said that, I'm sure there are plenty of FTers who have me beat on that particular metric. Just not you!

The idea that you (just to be clear, in case I wasn't earlier, I mean the generic "you") have the most seems irrelevant so long as you get to where you want, in the way you want to get there. A resource like FT can help anybody do that for a whole lot less than they could have ever imagined so long as they're open to the information presented.

Hope you got that I was kidding. I gather what I need. I use what I can. I've learned a lot from a lot of posters here, including you. I have no desire to do one of these posts telling the world what I've gotten. The best part of FT to me is that there are so many different individuals going towards so many different goals. I learn some interesting things from all different types of people, the experienced to the newbies.

Comparing miles/points balances is pretty pointless (accidental pun but I'll claim it!). A high balance could mean somebody travels a lot or it could easily mean someone does a lot of credit cards but doesn't travel enough to use any of the bonuses. On the other hand low balances could mean somebody doesn't travel enough or spend enough to collect them or it could mean somebody is continually running through them and never gives his miles a chance to gather dust.
Personally I'd rather have low balances due to traveling a lot then having millions of miles and never going anywhere.
But either way, you can't tell a whole lot from comparing balances. And who wants to anyway?

Spend on the Chase freedom instead, but dont redeem the points. Later, in a year or two apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Then all your Ultimate Reward points collected through Chase Freedom will turn into gold..you can transfer them to United/ Hyatt/BA/Korean/PC/Marriott at 1:1
I think the Freedom card is no annual fee. Keep it forever.

I'd be much more impressed if the OP was 'One year - 1 million points used...'
There's no reason to stockpile points. Spend them. Take the wife to a nice place and expose her to the devaluation of HH points when Tahiti only has suites available.

With all due respect,
This is a long standing debate. Just as with money, which also devalues over time; some folks are savers, some are spenders, some do both. Theres nothing wrong with saving for something really special or for an emergency (last minute airline ticket) or for a rainy day.
