Bought a Chicago Coupon for $5 worth of coffee on 12/8. Not sure if I signed up before or after the rule change (it was about 4:30 pacific, 7:30PM eastern).
Miles posted today into my CO account. I never contacted them at all. Easy 1500.

Update: got my CO miles, too -- twice. Maybe they'll remove one of them, but for now I have 4,500 miles on CO/UA for buying two $15 certs to Whitmans in Manhattan at a cost of $20. That's $0.0044/RDM if I toss the certs, but I'm planning on a trip to NYC to use them. I'm happy.

One option is to move your Continental miles over to United, if you have your accounts linked, and hope they can not get them back.

I just checked mine.
Both entries (1500 x 2 = 3000) miles were still there in the CO account.
So I just linked my UA and CO accounts, moved all the miles into the UA account. Done. Zero miles left in the CO account.
I suppose they could try and claw them back out of the UA account, but I'm guessing that would be more trouble then it would be worth for them. I'll keep an eye on it.
Thanks, Continental, I enjoyed our relationship, but it's time to move on.
Now, where are those 50,000 bonus miles for the new United Explorer card I just signed up for, hmmm?
