Preparing for Churn Oct 5th

With the news of the Chase United Explorer card available to everyone with the bonus 60K bonus, I have marked these for the churn:

USAir MasterCard World Elite (barclays)..........40,000 miles after 1st use
CHase INK Business VISA (chase)...................50,000 UR points
United Explorer VISA (chase)..........................60,000 miles
AAdvantage VISA (citibank)............................75,000 miles
AAdvantage BUSINESS VISA (citibank)..............75,000 miles

I do have a USAir Mastercard already, and currently hold ONE Chase card (Sappphire Preferred), and TWO CITI ThankYOu card (VISA & Amex)...

would like to get your thoughts on my plan......ideas? tips?

I don't think you can churn them. Most of the offers today have a clause "bonus offer applies to first time card holders only" or similar, so it's a one-time deal.

Instead of AA Visa and AA Business Visa, I'd go for the AA Visa with the AA Amex for this round. Since both are personal cards, once you get one (without concurrently getting the other) you can't get the bonus until (people are reporting) 18 months after application on another personal card. Therefore getting 2 at the same time circumvents that and allows both personal bonuses to be received. Then, in your next round of churning you can include the AA Visa business.

Any particular reason why you include the USAir? The bonus doesn't seem that lucrative and they can sometimes give you a lesser card with a lower bonus.

AA's work if you do you're timing correctly

For the OP, I'd pass on the AA business, get the AA Amex instead and then get the business in 65 days

That's good to know. Is it 18 months after closing the "old" card?

this card to my understanding is churnable...and you dont have to cancel the first card....granted, I do realize they can screw you over (as they did with my wife and gave her only 10K)...but its worth it, as these US miles can be used on any staralliance carrier...

AAdvantage Cards

just a side note, the last time i had the AAdvantage cards was 2009..I believe i got them (both personal Amex + Visa) in 11 or 12 of 2009...so I should be good to go..

HOWEVER (not sure this makes a difference) ...I did get the *CITIBANK* ThankYou cards in July...but they are NOT the AAdvantage cards...so I should be okay..yeah?

To everything (Churn, Churn, Churn)
There is a season (Churn, Churn, Churn)

And it is Grand Slam season now where you could piggy back a pile of miles onto that USAirways card.

That won't affect the decision on the AA cards.

How do you redeem the miles on other carriers? For example I have 150k American miles and 50k Continental miles. But I've found no way to use those miles on other star alliance carriers.
