Say there's a total of 10,000 orders which I think is a fair amount. (actually probably a low amount)
That's 830,000,000 total miles given out.
AA has to list the amount of outstanding frequent flier miles as a liability for tax and income reporting reasons. These are generally valued at 2 cents per mile.
So this fiasco would cost them $16,600,000 on the books.
Do you guys really think AA or Verizon is going to swallow $16 million dollars?

My guess is that Verizon will "compromise" by spitting the T&C back at the purchasers and they will get whatever the mileage was supposed to be. However, to those who purchased, I wish you much luck and will be very jealous if you get your miles!

Now the Fun Starta
Ok who thinks this will actually happen? I am of the thought that we get something and not the whole shootin match. If I walk away with enough for maybe a ticket or two I think I would be happy, but I don tsee that happening either, more like a token 5-10K Miles. Interesting that they didnt fix the miles to show the correct number, but took it to 0 instead.

Verizon Return Policy
Just talked to a Verizon CSR at 800-922-0204 to try to cancel my headset order and place another charger order. They have a 14 day no hassle return policy and they don't charge a re-stocking fee.
If the points don't post within 14 days, I guess I'll hang onto the chargers/headsets (3 each) and try to sell them on ebay. I'll be out $163, but it's worth it for a shot at 500K AA miles.
