Interest level in Travel Hacking
I am restating the original post, it was not worded clearly and as a result not received as intended. I'm not worried about credit card interest
I've been following the miles game for a few years, mostly lurking. I've felt that the number of people playing the miles game has heightened in the past year with all the action around the mint and the huge CC bonuses being offered. Curious to know what others think.

From what I understand from my weeks into this miles game, it is only worth it if one pays the cc bills on time without accruing interest. If you are going to pay interest, then might as well choose a cc with the lowest interest rate rather than the best miles bonus.

i agree with what @danpeake said. that's the whole point of FT. i just signed up for the AA cards and will see how it goes. Tread lightly when you start, and then ramp it up. Obviously if you have to pay interests to meet the spending requirements, just do this slowly, and target what you want.

What do you mean by "travel hacking"? How does it differ from taking advantage of known bonus offerings? The word "hacking" implies something illegal or at least unethical.

The game here, properly played, is not hacking. To call it such impliest you are uncultured and have no appreciation for art. FlyerTalk supports the arts and we just happen to have alot of artists in our art colony.
