App-o-rama plan feedback?

Looking for thoughts on my imminent (next day or so) app-o-rama plans in before I pull the trigger on multiple apps all at once. I have a strong credit rating, pay in full each month and can meet all required spends. Never been denied on a credit app. Love any and all feedback from fellow FTers on tweaking this for maximum success. Would you change a card decision? Is 6 apps (if I got for all) too aggressive? TIA!

CITI- previous (and only) apps 60+ days ago for AA Visa and Amex
Go for AA Biz 75k AND either Thank You Premier 50k, fee $125 OR Hilton HHonors Visa Sig 50k, no fee (since HHonors Amex is the better no fee Hilton card, if I apply for that now I'll definitely go with the TY Premier)

CHASE- prev app was 30 days+ for CO MC, prior to that was 30+ days for BA Visa
Sapphire Preferred 50k

AMEX- prev app 60+ days ago Prem Rew Gold (also have Biz Plat)
leaning to Hilton HHonors 50k (20k plus 30k $500 spend) no fee OVER the SPG 15k (plus 15k at $15k spend) as think can get a better SPG Amex offer by waiting.

BofA/FIA- Prev apps- none
Alaska Air 40k exp 7/30/11 plus $99 comp tix Eco or FC , fee $75:
AND Given can do 2 in one day (with CRA combining the 2 pulls from FIA into 1) is it worth trying for the BofA Hawaiian 35k, $79 fee as well.

It appears as though you have a well thought out plan with valid reason for each app. Your list looks like a good combination of the current best offers.

If you do go for Amex Hilton I would supplement it with Visa Hilton, as well, rather than Citi Premier. Both cards have no annual fee and low spend requirement, and you could apply for Citi Premier on a later date.

All of those options sound good to me. You have the general "cooling" time periods betwn app's for each company down proper.

I would holdoff on SPG, as you stated 15k is not worth the pull.

For the BofA option, do you already have mileage with Alaska or Hawaii? That would be huge for me because 50k miles on Alaska can get you lots of places easily, same for Hawaii. Both leave you just shy of planning a last minute trip and in a higher service class.

Good luck on the app-run!

I read elsewhere that Hawaiian (B of A) will transfer 2:1 to Hilton. The 35K Hawaiian would become 70K Hilton.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Have tweaked my plans as follows:
CITI- AA Biz 75k and HHonors personal Visa Sig 50k . I'm going to wait till after the weekend to do app-o-rama, just to be on safe side with 60+ day timeline, and the TY Prem expires 6/30 (today) per terms- will reevaluate if offer still live next week
CHASE- No change
AMEX- Hilton HHonors 50k now (holding off for better SPG Amex offer in future as no targeted for 15+15k after $15k so would only get 10+15 if did it now).
BofA/FIA- Will go for both Alaska Air and BofA Hawaiian

Is there really a benefit to pulling the trigger on all apps at once? Back in the day of maximizing credit lines for 0% BT offers the conventional wisdom was to do an "app-o-rama" on the same day within a very short time period applying for the best offers first but I'm not sure it's value added if the goal is to maximize sign up bonuses while limiting inquiries and/or spreading evenly over the 3 reporting agencies. Better to pull the trigger only for the cream of the crop and leave capacity for future offers. I believe chase is the only one where you could theoretically save inquiries by applying for more than 1 (chase) card at the same instant in different browsers, but wouldn't be a benefit here since you are only applying for 1 chase.

How about BoA Virgin Atlantic 45k instead of Hawaiian? Gets you 80k Hilton plus 5k left over, or 100k Hilton and none left over if you add an authorized user.

HikerT- thanks for the question. I am certainly open to other views on the best approach.

It is my understanding (mostly from Rick, the Frugal Travel Guy's, expertise) that lumping them all together bunches inquiries, which then roll off 90 days later, and allowing another round. Love to hear others thoughts on this very important topic.

Re Chase- my understanding from reading FT threads is they will automatically deny you if you have two apps in 30 days, so I believed that only 1 at a time is possible with them, thus no attempt here to do two.

Can you elaborate on this? This is copied from VA's website:

SPEND MILES
Flying Club members can exchange their miles for HHonors points which can then be redeemed for HHonors rewards such as free hotel nights, experimental rewards, premium merchandise and much much more.

Exchange miles at a rate: 1 Flying Club mile for 1 HHonors point.

Minimum Level: 10,000 miles and then in increments of 5,000. Just call the Flying Club Helpline with your HHonors account number.

I read the same, but also read elsewhere that people have successfully applied to 2 or even 3 Chase cards at the same time. Can anyone else confirm or refute this? Not sure if maybe they have applied for multiple other cards from other banks and just applied it to Chase without actually having done it.

I'm thinking about applying for the Sapphire Preferred (50k), Southwest Visa (50k), and/or Hyatt (2 free stays and upgrades), all from Chase.

Doesn't make much sense if you really think about it. Would you rather scrape the barrel on one given day or set yourself up to collect the best offers over 90 days?

Virgin gets you 50K easy. Those miles are usable on CO & US or Hawaiian. On HA they have lower reward levels too- for instance Hawaiian charges 15K RT inter-island but through Virgin it's only 6K RT inter-island on Hawaiian !
