CHASE Continental OnePlass Card--Keep or Cancel?

I am looking to cancel a few cards in prep for a yearly churn ; I wanted to get some insight from my FT family and see what y'all think of the Chase CO card...shold I keep it or cancel?

I got shafted with this card because I got nailed with an $85 annual fee, which I didnt win the email fight with, and I only got 25K miles as a sign up bonus + 5000 for adding another user (standard op procedure at CHASE these days).

Ive had the card now for over a year (just got the two presidents club passes)...I took full advantage of this card and used the Onepass mall for Xmas purchases and cell phone bills, coins, etc....racked up almost a good 20K miles on it. If I cancel, any chance of rentention miles? Any advice?

I was going to cancel my CO card last month and they gave me 5,000 miles to reconsider.

since you are talking in the beginning about churning, it does not sound like you may really need this card (unless you want to collect the CO/UA miles or would otherwise pay for the club passes). Churn away ...

Now that Shop OnePass's Twice the Miles is going away on 7/19 I am not likely to keep the card until the renewal fee comes due.

its unanimous--off with its head

looks like I got my answer from y'all...I appreciate it.

I have collected about 90K CO/UA miles and I have 160K MR pts that I can always xfer to CO (before Sept 2011)...so I should be good for a first class ticket to anywhere I want on Star Alliance.

I'll try for the 5000 pts....wait to get them (if I do get the offer) and still cancel

The only thing keeping me from cancelling my Continental card is the nice primary rental car coverage. I may still cancel it sometime, but that is a very nice feature.

Cancelling a card can actually hurt your credit rating a little if it's a card that you've had for a few years. If you need to maintain a high credit score you may want to cancel your newest card. Another option is to ask to change to a plan with no yearly fee. You probably won't earn as many miles but you can keep the card.

He said he's only had the card for a little over a year. I say dump it & ask for a prorated refund on the annual fee!!

I guess all Visa cards have rental coverage.

Cancel the card asap imo. All that should happen is it will convert to a UA card in which will mean you can miss out on signing up bonuses

Yes cancel the card. Get the prorated refund and when UA takes over you're free to churn a UA card. I've only had mine 2 months but I will cancel it by Sept.

Did you try to transfer the credit amount to a different card assuming you have another Chase card?
