Is there an expiration to these raffles suite certificates? If not they seem to be a better deal than the fairmont gift card but the lack of an expiration date was key for me

This is incorrect. If you pay with the Cap1 Venture card, you still earn points in the hotel program for the stay itself. This is the same double dip opportunity that exists with the US Bank FlexPerks card. Of course, you don't earn hotel frequent stay points for the actual credit card use, but that should go without saying!

Probably true if you use them to book as a reward... BUT the cool thing about Cap1 Venture miles is that you can use them to reimburse your travel expense. Doing it that way, you most definitely get FF miles.

It also appears that once you make a reservation with your miles in capital one either for an airline ticket or a hotel there is no cancellation.
With that in mind 110k are a lot of miles and a generous gift however is not the best miles to collect. My opinion SPG is still the best.

Again... don't make a reservation with your MILES/POINTS. Use them after the fact on reservations you find yourself (even highly-discounted reservations work great here!).

Remember also when "collecting" miles that you earn 2 points per dollar, not one. Capital One is looking awfully nice to me. I've been using it for regular purchases since I got it, and so far I'm thrilled with what's building in my account.

Did you read the item description (on the Cap One site and posted in this thread)?

The Raffles certificates are looking pretty good to me. On the property list be sure to check the footnotes to make sure your desired property offers the standard suites covered by the certificate.

* Junior Suites not available
** One-Bedroom Suites not available
*** Junior Suites and One-Bedroom Suites not available
(G) Fairmont Gold available
† Only Suites available

I don’t think these footnotes matter for Ovation Reward Certificate. “Standard suite” translates into the least expensive type of room in each hotel. If you wish to book another room type then upgrade fees would apply. You can also book a hotel from Collection D for additional fee.

Sell Hyatt gift cards on plastic jungle?

Would there be anything illegal about getting the $900 Hyatt gift cards and selling them on PlasticJungle for $747? I read the fine print on the CapitalOne rewards page and didn't see anything about not reselling them, but I don't want to do this if it's against the rules.

If you have received this Gift Check as a premium, as a part of a loyalty program, or other non-cash transaction, these additional terms and conditions shall apply:

1. Please see the front of the Gift Check for its expiration date.
2. No credit or change will be given on any unused portion of the certificate.
3. Certificate is void if sold for cash or other consideration.

i just had a rewards panic attack. i put the hyatt, fairmont, and ritz deals on my wish list and was adding the raffles deal and i looked at my wish list next to the hyatt, fairmont, and ritz and it said: "This item has been discontinued and is no longer available. You may want to remove it from your wish list."

then i searched hyatt and it came up as still available so i hope it still is!

**edit...im gonna answer my own question here, i bet its cuz the amount of miles went up slightly for hyatt, i guess it did for fairmont and ritz as well.

I could not find any info on additional fees to use on a Collection D hotel. Would greatly appreciate information or a link. TIA!

I was able to use miles to pay for all my drinks and food at the Sheraton Orlando that I stayed at 2 weeks ago. I wasn't expecing that.

Concerned about use of Raffles certs at Fairmonts

I'm very interested in pulling the trigger on the Raffles option, but *ONLY* if it can work at Fairmonts.

Many think it will be, but I'm convinced we know that for sure. While it's true that traditionally Ovation has combined the three brands under one umbrella, are we certain that this RAFFLES SUITE offer is really valid for other brands?

Since the offer states valid at Raffles, I have real concerns that it may indeed end up being exclusively valid at Raffles properties. The only interest I would have with these cards would be if I could use them at Fairmonts.

When/if someone can confirm one way or the other, I'd be grateful if you'd post details for the rest of us.

Gracias.

Just tell the hotel to bill you everyday indivdually or if your doing a pre pay rate book one day at a time then call the hotel and explain it to them
