Best use is probably their intended use. Travel somewhere requiring $1,100 in the next year. Buy a plane ticket, stay in a hotel, whatever.

Depending on when you get the $1100, you could buy 80,000 US miles with their current 100% bonus offer. Seems like you could get a >$1,100 ticket with that.

It might be a good idea to let the chickens hatch before everyone starts counting them.

you don't "get" $1,100. you get 110,000 points.

then you need to spend $1,100 ON YOUR VENTURE card

then you need to redeem those points for statement credits on your VENTURE CREDIT CARD STATEMENT so when the bill comes its really $0.

If A=B, and B=C, then A=C.

he was saying "Depending on when you get the $1100" as the timing played a part of purchasing US miles - I was pointing out the fact that you don't "get" anything, it was more of the fact that you get the card, spend on travel, and then get it reimbursed by Capital1.

CapOne 110K = 2 Coach Tickets to Asia ?

New to the game I've yet to graduate to an adequate understanding of EQM and the benefits that yield low point business/first redemptions with other airline programs. I'm just looking for X points/miles to get me to Y location.

With that in mind I had thought this might be a good opportunity to buy Q fares (I think) from bucket shops online and possibly squeeze out two coach fares to Asia. I trust that a transaction with a travel agency merchant code would be redeemable under C1s program if taxi trips are as I'm reading elsewhere.

I'm surprised a link hasn't been posted to the website.

https://travelrewards.capitalone.com/CapitalOne

https://nohasslerewards.capitalone.com/Default.aspx click on Redeem if you already have an account.

Example, 25,000 points = $250 Macy*s Gift card.
Apple Ipad for 109,000 points.

I'm assuming the intention of this is to use Cap 1 for the cash portion of cash & pts.

As these points give a constant rate of redemption (for travel related expenses) the best use has got to be any travel related expense to which points/miles could not be applied.
