60K SPG should get you over 100K AA - mighty tempting...

I'm was about to convert 140k SPG points. I think its a little unclear if we get the 35% on top of the 20%. Is it everyones assumption that we'll get the double bonus here?

According to this thread:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...june-30-a.html

you get the 35% on top of the 25%. The reasoning there is that AA only sees the final amount from SPG - not the itemization.

I'm going all in!

The 1000 starting point is a bit misleading because many programs have a minimum threshold for converting points.

Also many programs have crappy conversion rates as well.

Just remember you can only transfer 60k max per transfer to get all the bonus miles. If you want to move 140k be sure to break it up into smaller transfers every 24 hours (60k, 40k, 40k would work.)

Hyatts conversion rate was a little borderline considering what you get for 50k GP points... but now after the davluation of some of my favourite properties and this 35% bonus it was due to cash out big time ! ^

WOW!

I am gold for life working on Platinum for life. Are we sure this wont go towards that?

Also, sitting with Million or Membership Rewards and want to transfer to a hotel program and then to AA, any suggestions on the best conversions?

Does this mean they don't count toward lifetime status?

If so, it seems sending 60k for 101.25k seems like a no brainer. Not really going to do better than that for AA miles I don't think.

Maybe with the relationship with Marriott ending we'll see other promos like this one.
The miles won't count towards published elite status qualification. Lifetime status on AA is an unpublished benefit that counts all miles earned, regardless of the source.
