After further review of the fine print - "For each conversion of points into the Frequent Flyer program of a U.S. airline, a fee of $0.0006 per point, with a maximum of $99, will be charged to your Card account."
The FT consensus points to a great deal - even better that I thought with the unAmerican bit. Game on!

I got the 50k mileage offer in the mail in January for the Amex Gold Delta Skymiles card, but it required me to spend $3,000 within 3 months. The miles posted almost immediately after I hit my spending target.
Although the same number of points as the Premier Rewards card, the annual fee for this one is only $85, also waived for the first year.
I don't see a way to get this offer on their website. As far as why I was targeted, I didn't have a current relationship with Amex, but did have a closed corporate account.

I got this offer last year for the Rewards Plus Gold Card. 50k MR points after $500 spend. I had had the B6 Amex for several years prior, but I guess they wanted more use on an Amex than I was giving them. I cancelled that card before the annual fee was due, but not before opening a Premier Rewards GC with a 15k bonus after $1k spend.

My first new thread
Fresh out of my mail box - what appears to be a targeted offer from American Express. It is their Premier Rewards Gold Card; $175 annual fee (waived first year - like I would keep it over a year and pay
); spend $500 by May 31 and get 50k Membership Rewards points. It seems that the points turn into miles if you so desire for a whopping $0.0006 per point or all of $30 for 50k miles.
Question is: Does anybody have experience with this card/offer? My gut says to take it and run! Fellow FT'ers please convince me either way.
Thank you.

ok i got my card with the 15k offer today, but i dont want to activate it until i ask one more time for someone who has this offer to share the details...what phone number do you have to call or what code does it mention?
I called the 800 number but she had no clue as to what generated the offer or where to find it....so anyone with specific info on how to get this offer or what it says in the offer please post!!!

Interesting data point: my card came today, but had no mention of the 50K offer
I called and verified before activating and was told "yes, you are absolutely going to get the 50K". We'll see
Heck, it is only $500 that I would spend anyway . . .I tried in vain to get Mrs Surface Interval signed up - to no avail. The pat line is: "If you do not have the offer (16 digit RSVP code) in your name we cannot give it to you". I tried two different times and got the same response.
