I transfered 1000 to me and 1000 to my wife, just in case the give 5K to each linked account.

I got two 1000 transfers to my wife, and none to me.

Worse yet, Amex shows that I did THREE transfers of 1000 points.

I'm thoroughly confused.

You don't need to go through the link page - you enter the FF details just before checkout.

Go to Use points => transfer points => FF programs
Then select BA and enter the # points you want to transfer in box 2
You will then be asked to enter the Name and account #

I successfuly made a transfer from my Amex MR account yesterday to my wife's account, and the transferred points are there now in her BAEC account.

I notice that this process has in fact caused the accounts to be linked; so I de-linked, and went ahead and successfully made transfers to each of my kids accounts without it complaining. There i

Ts and Cs say one per AMEX account.

I wonder who is actually giving the 5K bonus, AMEX or BA. If it is AMEX, it will be easy for them to enforce this bonus. If it is BA, it seems less so.

I saw that, but we've got four cards on the same Amex account. So we're each cardmembers, right? And we all (now) have BA accounts.

I'm still not convinced either way.

Oh, I've gambled and moved 1K to both accounts. The only thing I have to lose is a better opportunity for 1K should it not get the bonus, and that's a small amount to wager.

One is a cardmember, everyone else is an authorized user.

This may not be how it ends up working in practice, so it's worth it to me to gamble for the mere 1K points, as by the time we find out it will be too late.

What were your transaction dates?

I posted 1K into the same BA account from 3 separate MR accounts. 1 posted today (transaction date dec 18), no additional bonuses on the other (transaction dates dec 21 and Jan 7).

I'm wondering if there is a lag (If I recall, it originally said bonus miles would post after Feb 28th) or if I gambled and only broke even?
