You can request a match to 1P for E+ access regardless of the NZ trip.

As a 1P you do get a 100% RDM bonus on UA metal, but only 50% for paid C on UA metal, and 25% on NZ metal. On the other hand, on the bmi program you get 100% bonus in paid C for all *A partners.

And the bmi program is very generous (one-way awards at half the price, great cash+miles option, very low redemption levels) so even though you do get fewer miles compared to crediting to UA as a 1P, IMO the bmi miles are worth more.

Of course I just tested the cancel button on Orbitz for our Christmas booking and the tickets can be cancelled without incurring airline penalty.

When I do the same for our March booking, the option is:

'This ticket's value, less applicable change fees, can be used toward a purchase on the same airline(s) if you complete travel by May 07, 2008. '

Doesn't sound like the March ticket is fully refundable even though fare basis of CNZ is the same for both. Does the difference have something to do with paper tickets?

Is this a UA policy or an Orbitz policy? (Where would I read it at?)

I might need to take advantage of it, if this turns out to not be fully refundable as promised.

My apologies, I get it now (Duh!). FWIW, I waited until UA pulled it out of their website to call.

Thumbs up

Snagged a one-way last night for SFO-AKL. Thanks for the heads up, Mister Nice.

Orbitz, as UA has no booking fee.

It is a UA policy. FWIW in the past I was able to refund 100% nonrefundable UA tickets (within 24 hours of booking) on orbitz.com. My ticket included codeshares on LH metal.

My AKL-SYD booked into business on Zeal with a UA#. Is this just as good (for earning) as regular NZ?

Actually I have no clue. I'd wait a couple days and then call.

I booked a few one-ways. I'm definitely not moving there, but I am going to be starting a bunch of one-way awards out of there.

Looks like it's gone from Orbitz.

Would like to go 12/21 to 12/29ish.

LAX or SFO okay.

Any ideas to find somewhere to price it out and ticket it? Or am I too late?
