Cheaptickets offers routing via USA, which can eliminate the need for an overnight on the return.

The problem is getting off LCA to make a flight back to the states, how are you seeing otherwise?

It offered me a return of LCA-MXP-EWR then EWR-YYZ on CO/AC. The MXP-EWR flight leaves later in the day , compared to the YYZ departures.

For those of us who didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, can somebody who actually got this to work post the dates used, the booking website, and detailed instructions as to how to make it happen?

I'm in on travelocity. Use multi city with MXP, and variations of the dates from the OP.
