Stopovers permitted too! What a great fare!
Booked on Expedia US to give me 24h to think about this. If the restrictions are still in place by March, it seems that what @standbyalldtime would apply.

Eligible Fares
All international fares issued between June 11, 2020 and September 30, 2020 (Standard, Saver, Special, Special Saver fare types).- Fares from Japan to New Caledonia/ from Indonesia to Japan are excluded.
About Changes
As an example, if you purchase a new ticket departing in August 2020, you are able to change the departure date to November or even later as many times as you like up to and including 30 September 2020 without paying change charges.- As a result of the change the applicable fare amount and/or rules may change. If the fare amount changes this amount will be payable.
- If a fare with a restricted departure period was originally purchased and the date is subsequently changed to a date outside the permitted departure period a different fare will be applied and may result in a fare difference being charged as well as a change of fare rules.
- If changes or cancellations are not made prior to the original flight departure the free change rule will not be applied.
- Refunds will be permitted in line with the rules of the fare purchased.

My understanding of this change waiver policy is that you can only make one change free of charge after October 1st, without touching the first segment. So it is not very good flexibility. Also if you cannot finish the ticket before March 25th (last date possible for Japan-Europe flight) then you are subject to lose the last part of the ticket or to a high price difference for a fare that allows flights after March 25th. A strategy could be to have a stopover in Europe, fly that segment, and have all the rest booked for March. When you know when you can travel to Japan, you can bring forward the fligths at dates that suit you, once, free of charge. However, if Japan does not allow you to enter without quarantine by March 25th, the European sector you flew might be very expensive.
