I'd probably do it, if i knew that I could still earn AA miles/status on LATAM by September next year

It was a great deal but there's too much uncertainty, as LATAM has horrible customer support, and not sure what their presence in oneworld and the accrual charts will be like next year.

Inputting the fare I found on Matrix (post 18, above) into the LATAM website's multi-city tool returns flight choices for all flights, except the NRT-JFK and LAX-NRT flights. The booking engine says no flights are available that day. When I select alternate dates, the same error appears. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I fixed that issue by putting the first sector as NRT-LIM and the last as SCL-NRT. Now, though, I can't select a flight on the middle two sectors because they are only Y flights and I've selected premium business. It won't even allow me to select Y flights on those sectors.

Priceline just sent me a notification about a schedule change, though it hasn't been made obvious what the change was. Anyone else?

The first word of the message you quoted is a good clue. I booked via Priceline.

I booked through expedia but the latam flights showed economy seat selection so I cancelled immediately. Less attractive itinerary is (or was) available to book directly on LA web site.
