For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value):
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:

Route(s) You've Already Searched:
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)?
For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD.
There are many good fares to China (PEK or PVG). If you have a Chinese visa, these options will be provided. Otherwise, you may have to take advantage of TWOV (visa on arrival). Its information can be found: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/china/708095-china-24-72-144-hour-transit-without-visa-twov-rules-master-thread.html

If your requested PQM is in a few thousand, please give a more accurate amount. You will get fewer options with a roundup number (eg, 5000 instead of 4830; IAD-SFO nonstop will work for the latter.)

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to do a mileage run to confirm my 1K status for next year. I'm short about 16,500 PQM and just under $2,800 PQD. I'd like to try and maximize the BIS miles (on United metal) I get from this mileage run in order to contribute to my million miler status as much as possible, while using the least amount of time possible.

I have 1 GPU I can use for this journey and would prefer if the whole trip was in J. Y is fine for short domestic hops, but anything beyond 4 hours would be great to have in J. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help guys, it's very much appreciated.

Here's an idea:

UA:$1468 ORD-HKG in Prem Econ 26280PQM 1308PQD 17520BIS(for MM)
Sat 26 Oct
UA248 ORD-SFO 1615-1851
UA877 SFO-HKG 2305-0515(+2days)
(15h20m daytime in HKG)
Mon 28 Oct
UA878 HKG-SFO 2230-1950
UA995 SFO-ORD 2320-0517(+1day)

It sounds like GPUs have recently been clearing on this route...which is promising. And domestic segments are Economy (B), I think that means Instant Upgrade (if available).

You may want to see about getting return tickets at SFO, and hopefully you can just "transit" and lounge-hop in HKG. There may also be the option of SDC to 10am/11am return flights.

This would put you 1492PQD short, and 9780PQM over. Or another way too look at it: 1492 PQD and 15220PQM short of 125k (1GPU). Lots of possibilities.

Work schedule has gone crazy, but have a narrow window coming up where I am hoping to get a mileage run in, if possible. Have looked at YYZ-HNL but that gets me about 9,000 - need more.

Departure Airport: YYZ, DTW, FNT
Miles Needed: 12,500
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): $1,000 budget
Available Travel Dates: Oct. 23 - Oct. 27
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: United metal

Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? No

You are on the right track thinking of Hawaii. Here's two trips, bookable on a single PNR:

UA:$565(749CAD) YYZ-FAR/YYZ-OGG 12807PQM
Wed 23 Oct YYZ-ORD-FAR-DEN-YYZ
Fri 25 Oct YYZ-DEN-OGG-SFO-IAH(+1day)
Sat 26 Oct IAH-YYZ
Link: https://flights.app.goo.gl/BvuJu

Alternatively, you can do this, which is way more miles than you need, but it's a single trip to the airport:

UA:$600(794CAD) YYZ-TPE 17430PQM
Thu 24 Oct YYZ-SFO-TPE
(overnight in TPE-requires hotel)
Sat 26 Oct TPE-SFO-YYZ
Link: https://flights.app.goo.gl/t1s5U

As requested, both options are all UA metal. Good luck!

Departure Airport: WAS
Miles Needed: 50000
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): $10,000 budget for J or F
Available Travel Dates: I need to be in SIN starting Nov 2nd/3rd to Nov 22nd/23rd for work. I'm currently booked on UA and the following itinerary will earn me 37KMQM and 9.1PQD. I'm looking for legs I can add to get the (or close to) extra 13 MQM IAD-SFO-NRT-SIN (P) SIN-NRT-IAD (D)
Metal or Codeshares Okay: 016 stock, any metal.

Assuming this is for UA PQM (not DL MQM)? This is close, and about $2k cheaper:

UA:$6965 IAD-SIN (via GUM) 48000PQM 6800PQD (estimated) Z-fare

Thu 31 Oct
UA803 IAD-NRT 1340-1645(+1day) B772

Sat 23 Nov

UA827 NRT-GUM 1115-1550 B772

UA838 NRT-SFO 1655-0910 B77W
UA727 SFO-IAD 1310-2102 B772

Link: https://flights.app.goo.gl/Jv5ax

Appears to price out as WAS-GUM roundtrip via TYO, with TYO-SIN side-trip:

WAS-GUM Z1RWB
TYO-SIN ZXRNS1
SIN-TYO ZWRNS1
GUM-WAS Z1RWB

Sorry I don't have exact PQM/PQD as UA website doesn't tell me without booking it.

Just to warn you, the final connection thru NRT is a bit tight. If you want to play it safe, you can route thru LAX instead of SFO, but you will lose the transcon lay-flat. Or you can do NRT-IAD, but you will lose 1500PQM.

Good luck!

Any suggestions how I can bump the PQD to somewhere around 8-9k?

Searching at United.com, and specifying a higher fare class.

You may also be able to create the itinerary, then call in to increase one of the fare components. I think you can bump up TYO-SIN or reverse up to J and that puts you in the right ballpark. That also gets you to 300% on that segment, so an extra 3300PQM. This means you can take NRT-SIN nonstop and you're still around 49.8k

BTW, if you really want to do GUM-NRT-SFO-IAD, there's a 7am departure. Gives you a lot more connection time in NRT...but 7h is a bit much. Even if it becomes all lay-flat for the entire itinerary.

Alternatively, can you just fly somewhere on another weekend with the $2k, and get more PQM?

Looking for any ideas on a trip (or two) out of YYC that would yield up to 22K UA PQM's.

Departure Airport: YYC
Miles Needed: Between 19,000-22,068 (depending on whether another trip materializes)
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): Max budget ~$2K CAD
Available Travel Dates: November 28-Dec 8 (preferably between Thurs-Sunday of either weekend)
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: Prefer UA metal

Route(s) You've Already Searched: YYC-HKG/TPE/SIN - PY on UA to either of those is about $1950 CAD, so is an option I'm considering, or W fares for ~$1200 CAD that I could combine with another trip
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? No

Appreciate if anyone else sees any good options!

Departure Airport: DCA/IAD/DTW/FNT/YQG (Can start and end in diff airports if there's a good value)
Miles Needed:14,905
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): $500-600ish
Available Travel Dates: Looking at final week/weekend of October or christmas time. Can be a couple days or a weekish trip. Can also do other days if it's a straight turn around or 1 day overnight.
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: Prefer UA, but doesn't matter for status.
Route(s) You've Already Searched: IAD-KIX, IAD-SGN, IAD-DAD, IAD- IAD-CDG (would do it 2x), IAD-AMS (would do it 2x)
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? No, and prefer not to layover in Beijing.

With the twice-daily SFO-HKG flights starting late October, this may be worth considering:

UA:$636 BWI-HKG same-day turn 18742PQM
Mon 28 Oct
UA2059 BWI-SFO 1845-2155 A320
UA877 SFO-HKG 2305-0510(+2days) B772
(17h20m daytime turn in HKG)
Wed 30 Oct
UA878 HKG-SFO- 2230-1950 B772
UA1061 SFO-BWI 2255-0658(+1day) B737

Link: https://flights.app.goo.gl/uFGtN

You may be able to SDC the return, to the morning SFO/EWR flight. Or if you're really lucky, miss the 1h connection at SFO and ORC the mileage. Just make sure you use a CC with built-in travel insurance (i.e. UA Visa) to cover the SFO hotel cost in that scenario.

Departure Airport: RDU. Willing to book separate travel to a UA hub (EWR, ORD) if there's a really good deal
Miles Needed: 11,000 PQM
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): $2000 PQD
Available Travel Dates: Friday evening/Saturday-Sunday for the rest of the year. Or 11/26-11/30 (plus or minus a day)
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:
Just need 016 stock
Route(s) You've Already Searched: RDU-HKG, RDU-ICN, RDU-SIN, RDU-PEK
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? Yes

Tried playing around with ITA Matrix but I have no idea how people string together some of the amazing mileage runs.
