Found this fare out of Colombo to PHL for November. Fares to other East Coast cities quite good, too!

Indeed. Thank you for sharing. I would absolutely have loved it if the fare was extended to Christmas!

Perhaps a mod should merge the threads?

At least PHL gets the A350 for a sweet ride and then could just connect using to American (or others) to ATL, MIA, etc.

The fare creeps up into the low $2000s as it gets in to later December...I'm keeping my eye on it for December 15th - January 4th. I'm in BKK but the fares out of Suvarnabhumi to PHL for the same dates are at $4,500! So, take a quick Sri Lankan positioning flight to CMB for $400 r/t or spend $2,000 more? I think I know what I'll do...

Dang, missed that!
Still loving the original fare, though! Flights out of BKK to North America have been sky high recently...a $250 positioning flight to CMB is well worth it for this.
Just booked a second flight for December 17th with a return on January 2nd for the same fare, so seems it is extended into the new year...there is some variation on pricing depending on day of week, naturally, but fares are still crazy low. For comparison: BKK-DOH-PHL-DOH-BKK on the same dates are pushing $5,400!
Now just need to figure out where to bank these miles...

Agreed that current price for ex-BKK is ridiculous those days, and def worth $250ish UL flights to CMB (+ extras if you want to upgrade to J and I fare class to earn more toward any OW airline status).

Hopefully this price stay same for early-mid 2019, since I don't think I am going to pursue status this year due to too many F/J award flights

Does anyone know when this deal will end? Or by when does it need to be booked by?

There is also a companion version of this fare that knocks another $100 off. I priced up for my whole family of 5 including 3 kids who get 2-11 year old discount and it was $1110 per person. Wow.
