Original premium fare deal was for QR J class travel, originating in Vietnam (SGN and HAN) to several destinations across the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Travel period 8/2017 - 3/2018 inclusive, RT fares in the USD 500 - 700 range (USD $0.05 base fare).
Reports have now been circulating that all held, non-purchased fares have been canceled by the airline. Some held and then purchased fares were also canceled, but several reports indicate at least some of those have been re-instated.

I'm looking at a VN flight arriving SGN 5pm and connecting to QR at 7:25pm, is that enough time? Will VN also interline baggage thru?
On return, my QR arrives at 1:30pm and I'm planning to connect VN at 4:50pm, is that also enough time and will QR interline with VN?
Thanks

Again, no problem on the return as QR checked my bag all the way through and VN issued my SGN-BKK boarding pass from their transit counter. Could not have been easier.

I had a very similar itinerary and had no problem getting VN to check my bag through (I departed BKK). Upon arrival at SGN, the QR transit rep arrived exactly at 4:30 pm, had my bag tagged retrieved and tagged and issued my onward boarding passes.
Again, no problem on the return as QR checked my bag all the way through and VN issued my SGN-BKK boarding pass from their transit counter. Could not have been easier.

Here's a picture I took that indicates for which airlines they will handle transfers. Only later did I see the sign requesting no photos!

Yes, and it's very well signed. What was harder was to find the entrance the Apricot Lounge -- it's a few steps inside one of the duty free stores and is accessible primarily by elevator.

That likely indicates those airlines staffing the transfer desk, that is, transferring to, not necessarily those from whom you can transfer.

Completed our tickets.
All went swimmingly. QR has a fantastic product. First Class lounge in DOH lovely.. but empty.. like 6 people in a space the size of an arena. Not sure is vacant is equivalent to luxury? Very nice food/beverage, but can't imagine sitting in that empty space more than a hour mind you.
Those transmitting in HCM will need paper boarding pass. Electronic isn't acceptable. Those transiting to low cost, Vietjet, Air Asia, you WILL need to clear customs. Only mainline carriers are allowed to transit internally.

I attempted to check in online with QR but was unsuccessful (see an agent). After a lot of online searching previously, and staying current with this thread, felt reasonably comfortable I could easily obtain boarding passes at the SGN transit desk. Well, I arrived in SGN on Air Asia with 3+ hours of transit time before the QR departure. At the transfer desk, I asked to obtain boarding passes on QR, and was asked for my passport, ticket confirmation, and boarding pass of my inbound flight. The agent informed me that discount carriers do not have agreements with the major carriers and so I had to clear immigration and go to the main counter to obtain my boarding pass. That sounded odd but another staff member confirmed that. Fortunately, they contacted Air Asia and the manager came to me and said indeed, Air Asia does not provide this service, but he would contact QR to see if they would issue me boarding passes nonetheless. 10 minutes later, I got them, and was informed that I really should have a visa.
Apparently, major carriers handle transits but discount carriers do not. I found three websites that all indicated transit visas are not required if you have an onward ticket, don't leave the transit area, and depart within 24 hours. What they don't say is that only applies to major carriers and not discount airlines.

Sorry for the super delayed response. Yes, I was given a quote on what the refund would be in terms of the taxes prior to clicking "Cancel" and that is exactly what was ultimately refunded.

Quick update: Made it to SGN yesterday and successfully entered the city. I purchased a visa on arrival prior to departing and everything worked great. Just make sure to have USD to pay for your transit visa. You can also pay in VND. Mine cost VND 1,300,000 or $50
Spent the night in Saigon. Loved it. Definitely recommend visiting the city if you have a chance. To get to the city there’s a shuttle bus for $1 (20,000 VND) but a taxi only costs 120,000 or $5.
Currently in the Apricot Lounge at SGN. Check in opened at 4:30pm local time but everything went smoothly. About to board my flight to DOH and it looks like I have a special SSSSprise waiting for me in DOH!
Many thanks to the OP and everyone else in this tread. I would haven’t made into SGN on my own, but so thankful I did. Truly wonderful trip!
