Anyone has an idea how to select seats on the segment CDG-CAN when it's operated by AF? Contacted both CZ and AF, but both airlines say they don't have a seat map....

Force you agent to try to use 'seat wish' request in Amadeus or similar in other systems (used when a seatmap is not available). And report your success here

Thanks for the advice, but it didn't work out. Apparently, AF prioritises pax that booked on AF stock. Everyone else has to wait until OLCI. They can't even leave a seat wish ("Contact your OTA for that"). My OTA charges €50 for any customer service, so I'll just wait until OLCI opens

AF will not do that dirty work even if they can, i guess this is their rules in respect of segregation of work between AF and agents. Shame to AF in any case.

Hi all,

Finally registered after months of lurking... I pulled the trigger on this one (thanks for sharing!) and going to start the journey soon.

I am usually flying with Qatar/Emirates and totally new to AF / CZ. My first idea was to create a Flying Blue account but not sure I will use AF soon and with the new scheme (XP), it does not seem very attractive.

CZ have pretty low fares from Europe and might do one or two trips to Asia in the future months.

What's the best way to get the most out of the miles? Flying Blue, Sky Pearl clubs? Others?

I have read the previous posts but none mentioned the Sky Pearl club?

Thanks

BTW - the CZ website is terrible, I can't even find my booking while entering either the passport/ticket number + name?! And can't see the last segment on Air France (CAN - CXR).

Hi.

You must go there and put your itinerary and your booking class : Where to Credit | Calculator
It will show you automatically how many miles you could earn.
Just check on the website of the choosen airline company how many miles you need for an award...
Take care with AF flights after april 2018 :they change the calculation... and may be the awards too...

Good flights.

Thanks jhmili! Went for the Sky Pearl Club at the end although I was quite disappointed with CZ. They managed to delay a luggage and didn't want to offer us an accommodation in Guangzhou. The transit time was 2 hours above 48 hours and I would not have asked if we didn't loose these two hours waiting for the luggage for nothing and going to the baggage claim office.

On our way from Tunis to Vietnam, we had to pick-up our luggage in Guangzhou. Does anyone has experience on the way back? Are they checked-in luggage going straight to Tunis from Vietnam? I am studying the best way to bring back some kilos of rice (no joke).

I got also quite surprised with the same day policy for using the lounge in CDC. We arrived from Tunis at 6pm and the next flight was at 11am. I am a newbie but never had issues in such a case in Qatar/Dubai.

Anyway, overall, it was a long pleasant journey full of Champagne so thanks a lot for sharing!

Hi bonboncl.

For my inbound flight, due to 5 cm of snow in Paris, I missed my connecting flight from CAN to SGN .
But i was rerouted 3 h after. I will arrive safe but without my luggage.
Fortunately i spent 3 nights in Muing Thanh Hotel and they delivered my suitcase to my hotel 15 hours after my landing with no apologizes of CZ.
Take care about this discount air fare tickets. You could see all my story here : https://flight-report.com/fr/report/...-CAN-Paris-CDG and open the last "bonus" hidden part. I negociate actually with CZ to refund the ticket of my vietnamese friend...

See you later for the end of my story...

Salut Christian et merci pour le report, very pleasant to read! TUN is definitely the worst lounge I have ever been with terrible food and ONE male toilet for the complete lounge. The only positive surprise was the bottle of Ricard :-).

We did CDG - CAN with CZ and not AF, looks like the food was better on CZ :-). We also didn't fly from Paris to Tunis as we had a pretty good Transavia deal from Lyon to Tunis.

My only regret is to have booked this trip only once... We stayed a month in Vietnam but didn't have enough time to do the South.

By the way, we got 700rmb back in cash at the airport from CZ for the delay. It may be worth to try asking.

Anyone had experience of changing from AF 787 to CZ 330? I do not really mind because of the strikes, but it created overnighght layover in Paris rathern than in CAN for me.
