For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.

----

NOTE: there is not much time left in 2017, given that travel tends to be expensive around holidays. You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----

*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")

NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

Departure Airport: MCO
Miles Needed: 9,500 to Diamond
Required Spend or Budget: MQD met, need to minimize spend. Can use up to 60K sky miles.
Available Travel Dates: Pref Dec16-Dec17
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*: I believe Delta is necessary for MQM maximization

Thanks very much. New here. I spent a couple of hours using GF and the Delta route map, but I haven't had much luck. -DDD

Hawaii is probably going to be your best bet.
MCO - LIH on 12/16 is available from $1143 RT for 10,522 MQM's.
MCO - OGG on 12/28 can be done for $800 RT for 9635 MQM's.

There are some MR to Las Vegas on the 18th and 19th for $300-$350 range. Gives about 4400 miles each.
Dec 20 - 22, JFK-FLL-JFK, 2180 miles, $330
MR to LAS booked for Dec 18.

1 more MR needed 4500 MQM's and we're there.

I am keen on finding a sunny place where I can stay for a few days without breaking the bank.
Has anything come up today? The FLL option does not earn enough points.

Actually, the thought was for you to two MR to Las Vegas and then FLL to get the last remaining miles and the beach.

However, OGG is now back in with a $894 price on the Dec. 28 (immediate turn) or $920 (one day stay). Also available is a immediate turn or one day stay in LIH (Kauai) for $820 for Dec. 28th.

Delta has the 24hour free cancellation policy in case you want to cancel your Vegas trip.

Amazing! Vegas cancelled and LIH booked. Better to get it done in 1 run.
THANK YOU canuck_traveler, you just saved me $2000 as the alternative was to buy the MQM's, but they go at a premium.

Happy holidays to you and yours!

I'm 1,165 MQMs short of Gold medallion status.I'd prefer not to pay the required $795 to elevate my status. Anyone have any strategies that they could share for picking up these miles?

If I were to book a flight to pick up the miles, would I actual need to be on the flight for them to post? Or would they post after the flight date regardless of whether I make the flight? I'm a bit tied down and won't have an open weekend to actually take a flight. I'm based out of Atlanta, although I'm not sure if that even matters based on my prior questions.

I've done a good bit of business travel in the past year but am a rookie in regards to reaching status - any recommendations are much appreciated!

It works just like earning redeemable miles - you have to actually fly the flight to earn the miles/MQMs.

With silver locked in and close to 24K rollover already earned (since you are 1165 short of GM), perhaps just stay silver for now, and start off 2018 with a head start on 2019 status earning.

If you want to do a MR to pick up the 1,165 miles then a trip to Boston can be a s low as $162 (Dec 28 or 29) ATL-BOS-ATL (1750 miles) or FLL for $206 on the same dates (leave ATL at 6pm and return by 11pm) - 1200 miles

Two short MR to California cities or LAS will do it (500 miles minimum per trip)

e.g. Dec 28 LAX-SMF-LAX, $120, 1000 miles
Dec 30, LAX-SMF-LAX, $166, 1000 miles (various other dates available)
