AARP still working?

mannyJ Oct 15, 2015 12:16 pm

act fast

I was looking to get another set, west coast - FCO, and these are pricing higher now. The great fares to LHR still look like they are live, but who knows how long

After lots of refreshing on the AARP site, I finally got the discount to work and got two adults and a lap infant for $2400 for a trip to London and Barcelona from Washington next summer. Fantastic price!!!

Thanks, got SFO-LHR-SFO on BA metal in June. Couldn't get it to show me LAX-LHR on AA metal for the 77W, but oh well.

$1219 with AARP - $764 with 30k Avios = $455. Got AARP to work on the first try.

Am I correct in assuming that if purchased on BA marketed flights, but credited to AA the EQP bonus would not apply (only get 1.5 EQP vs the 2 if purchased on AA)?

Thanks - just booked an extra random week in London next July for $2400 for two people from LAX through the AARP link.

Yes you are correct.

I recently flew on AA metal on BA ticket purchased through AARP deal and I did not get the AA bonus. It was clear from the terms and conditions that I would not.

I was trying to get LAX-LHR for the past hour or so on DL, and ITA/Google was pricing out at $1596-$1636, but when I chose the initial flight suddenly the return flight page was showing a bump up to $2016-$2036! Anyone else having that happen to them? I'd book one for ~ $1600 but not $2000+ ... :(

Are you using VS as the carrier?
I tried for 30 min on the phone and they could not get it to price. It was jumping from $1600 to $6000 when I went to pay for it. In the end BA got my biz..or at least for the next 24 hours or so unless this gets better.

First time using AARP. I have to book on the AARP website right? If I book it for 2 passengers, it's $800 off?

dlffla Oct 15, 2015 12:55 pm

How cool! I just got TPA to LHR for $1,524 from 12/8 to the 16th. What a nice treat to be able to catch some London theatre and maybe hop over to Strasbourg for the Christmas market as a Christmas treat for myself.
