AA: Need 7000 EQP out of PHL
I qualified for AA’s elite status promotion and am trying to get Platinum status by getting 9000 EQPs before Christmas. I have one trip scheduled for December with 2167 EQPs so I need about 7000 to get to Platinum.
So far I’m finding flights in F that are running me about 12 cents per point which is a little more than I’d like to shell out.
Looking to fly out of PHL on a weekday, same day or overnight return.

Have you thought of using miles o/w and buying F O/W? This will work to/ from HNL or ANC. O/W in F to/ from either of those cities will give you enough EQP with the 50% bonus.
It's not a killer deal, but another way to look at the problem and keep total time and costs down. A weekend in HI will do you good

I can think of 2 options (I am using 11/3 as a sample date, but these are widely available):
1) PHL-MIA-SJU-MIA-PHL in J (I fare)
$739 / ~8,000eqp = $0.092c/eqp
2) PHL-PHX-YVR-LAX-DFW-PHL in Y (V fare)
$592 (bought as 2 ow at current fx) / ~6900eqp = $0.086c/eqp
1) PHL-MIA-SJU-MIA-PHL in J (I fare)

2) PHL-PHX-YVR-LAX-DFW-PHL in Y (V fare)

Sorry, just realized you're doing a challenge, so you would only get 1.5eqps --so scratch option 1 above. You would have to add something like PHL-BOS-MIA on the outbound, and that looks like it would be over $.10c/eqp.

Check out the Premium Fare Deals forum as well, some great ideas in J for EQP runs...do a search for PHL. I recently made a R/T EQP run from YYZ-DFW-CUN and qualified for EXP just a few days ago. Good luck!

You will have to put these on hold and call in to upfare to V.
You can find these using the ITA matrix by searching one-way.
For the outbound, enter "phx aa / f bc=v" in the advanced routing field. It should be US$310.
For the return, enter "lax dfw aa / f bc=v." It should be C$368 ~ US$284.

I appreciate it your help - those flights would do the trick. Now I'm trying to see if I can eliminate one leg on the return. YVR-LAX-PHL would get me the EQPs but the scheduling doesn't seem to work. YVR-PHX-PHL would be perfect if it didn't leave me about 50 EQPs short.

^Thanks for the explanation. My ITA skills are still a work in progress.

It's a 75min connection in LAX, but there is now a shuttle to T6 from the Eagle terminal so unless your flight from YVR is very delayed, it shouldn't be a problem.

If YVR-LAX-PHL will get you the points you need, that routing is definitely possible for the same price.
