As indicated in the thread title, this deal is now dead.

How do I manage my itinerary/check my booking/select seats?

Note that the displayed receipt will be incorrect ($5 higher than actual) owing to a programming error. The taxes/fees shown includes the original $5 WF booking fee. Do not worry about this; it does not change the amount you are actually billed.
How many miles will I earn on United from my flight?
Here's the UA master page listing airline partners. If you click on a partner logo, you'll see a page containing a chart showing the yield for flights taken on partner metal. (It even says explicitly that it's the metal that counts: "The award miles accrued on codeshare flights are based on the operating carrier and their equivalent fare class.")

MileagePlus (UA) earning charts for
Will I do better if I credit to another *A carrier instead?
Maybe.

Miles&More (LH, LX,...) earning charts for
  • United Airlines (UA) (K, L, T fares earn 50%, 25% for flights in 2014)
  • Lufthansa (LH) (K, L, T fares earn 50% for TATL flights in 2013, 25% for TATL flights in 2014)
  • Swiss (LX) (K, L, T fares earn 50% for TATL flights in 2013, 25% for TATL flights in 2014)
  • Air Canada (AC) (K, L, T fares earn 50% for TATL flights in 2013, 25% for TATL flights in 2014)

Here's the master list of partner earning charts for Aegean (A3) and here's the list for Turkish Airlines (TK).
Are there other FlyerTalk members flying when I am?
Quite possibly! There is a meetup thread on the CommunityBuzz forum. Post if you would like to participate.

Umm no. The winner is all of us who got to take advantage of this deal. Some people need to take the conspiracy hats off for a minute and just enjoy the moment. See you in Milan!

The option to select seats is on My Trips on the Wideroe site, not CheckMyTrip. A search of the thread should help if you can't find how to access My Trips.

It's worth noting here that a large number of these tickets were sold on flights during non-peak travel periods, so the actual loss to United will be less than the missed YQ revenue. I'm sure a few people paid less for tickets they were already going to buy, but many of these are extra seat fillers.

Only United could really say what the actual impact to their bottom line would be, and it might be that they decide to honor the tickets because it's actually better for them.

Important Question

Obviously this deal must be known to UA by now.
As such UA must have made a decision whether to honor or not.
Has anyone heard first hand ( Cancellation) or has anyone heard / seen second hand if UA intends to honor these tickets as issued.

If UA filed tariff wrong, WF burned bridges with UA. If Amadeus is the problem, WF burned bridges with their supplier.

The winner here, as always, are the banks.
I don't disagree. But thus far, WF seems quite pleased with themselves.

And I didn't say it would be a Jeffy-sized bonus. Maybe a nice Christmas ham....

Nothing new, but the first news on this topic in English (besides the Forbes-Blog-Post)

(Didn't go through all of the last pages so might have been posted before)

There has not been one definitive mention of either - someone having a ticket canceled (other than on flights containing a Jet Airways segment), or a statement by UA - in the entirety of this thread. There has, however, been a firsthand account of flights already flown on one of these bookings. Which reminds me, I should really stop allowing myself to be part of that tiny minority that has read every last post on here...

This is supposedly a reporter in Norway:

There is no way UA can cancel directly even if they wanted to. WF sold the ticket. Only WF can cancel it. The most UA can do is recover behind the scene by issuing debit memos to WF for the YQ assuming WF is at fault.

According to local media, WF has not intention of cancelling these bookings because they don't think they are a fault.

As posted above you don't select seats on Checkmytrip. See the wiki for instructions of how to do this, you don't have to search through 160+ pages. The changes are made on the wideroe seats.

Speaking of changes, anyone else have thoughts on how to change meal selection? Surely I'm not the only one with this question.

But can United deny boarding less you pay the YQ upfront?

Thanks. I saw someone had mentioned Check My Trip to manage seats but couldn't find it it there. I also, foolishly, minimized the wiki after all the ticketing experiences grew too large.
