Maybe the sudden hit of traffic on Travelweb/Priceline servers or maybe someone called...unlikely that the hotel itself was monitoring this - my guess is that it was something to do with a call or PL/TW servers & queries

You are welcome. Figured with all the great info I've learned from FT, had to give back somehow (and maybe earn karma points for the next hot deal )

Sure hope it works too...would be a nice treat on our August vacation. Not sure what's required for the Air New Zealand card, maybe one of our May travelers will test out the deal.

Good luck everyone!

Now we can start the discussion of whether or not this will be honored. My feeling is that it will not w/o the proper Airpoints from Air New Zealand. The rate code states that it deals with redemption ( of Airpoints I would assume). Unless the bank of Australia/New Zealand has a redemption program, it would be a good bet that ANZ is Air New Zealand.

we need a "vetted" list, to ensure greater future success.

I'm quite impressed with the speed in which this was shut down.

I got in for 2 rooms for 10 night in August. Never been to Melbourne so I'm obviously hoping that this sticks.

This is absolutely crazy. I booked some for December. Interesting to see what happens. I have no idea whether Ill be going or not, but at that rate it doesnt even matter.

Am I the only who thinks that the Fare Alert list is a very, very bad idea.
I am willing to bet there are reps from many major booking sites and airlines subscribed to that list.
Now they don't even have to monitor FT, we helpfully email them about every mistake!!

Plea!

OMG - I only popped out of the house for a bit of fresh air (off sick today), & missed this - my brother lives 80 miles from Melbourne & tries to get in as often as possible. Never has enough money for these kind of places (teacher).

Could anyone who is going to cancel their reservation, as I'm sure 80% of you will, please contact me first to see if name additions/changes possible, as would mean a great deal if he and my sister-in-law could enjoy this place - anyone familiar with my posts, know I've been finding tons of similar deals for everyone here - from presidential suites to BA redemption errors, which I haven't even been able to use for myself!

Many thanks & would refund your 78c/night by Paypal, might even pay double, or quadruple even for Dec26th-30th for the Boxing Day cricket tests!

I think it is even simpler to catch than this.... probably as they were updating the SABRE database they inadvertenly made this rate code "visible"- and was caught on the final update. I wouldn't bet on this one working out though- given the T and C that are clearly printed on the rez- you need to redeem some Air New Zealand points....
