Thanks op. I got it going thru SEA-PHL-MAD-FCO on the way there 3/25 and FCO-PHL-SEA on the way back 4/3 (right on time with girlfriends spring break) . $242.27 total

I found rooms through hostelbookers.com from 3/5 to 3/11. Maybe your dates are available as well. Don't know if you like hostels or not though. Some have rooms with two beds for around $30 I believe.
"On USAir they still have a few dates available. Will help if you look under the price category and try some of the dates they mark green or yellow as available."
Apparently no seats those days on USAir.com for the cheap tickets either. Oh well. I'll get the next one.

Try my orbitz suggestions with the city pairs I mentioned earlier. The fare is still published, according to expedia.com.

Maybe you should try some different dates?

I'm trying that, but nothing else works. Doing this for march and checked flights with H inventory. Afraid this might be in the stage that it was pulled, but ghosts still remain in all of the websites for a few more minutes/hours.

thanks spiff. I'm using orbitz, but i'm trying to go through philly because that's where i'm starting and I'd like to just get off there on the way back ( get a o/w to SEA). when i select the US flight on sunday at 11:15am, FCO-PHL it says it can't find it. any thoughts?

The itinerary I posted goes through PHL each way, what's wrong with that one? Other people have reported H inventory not being available on the transatlantic PHL-FCO and FCO-PHL flights which is why keithguy suggested using an intermediate city in Europe.

Spiff, that itinerary does come up as supposed to. The thing is that once I select flights, the SEA-PHL, PHL-FCO segments are selected fine, but when i select the return FCO-PHL I get
"Sorry, no flights were found.

Change one or more of your criteria and click 'search' to try again."

Mind you this is on the screen where it already has hundreds of suggested itineraries. This is march 4-13th, and I used numerous availability tools to check that H inventory is available, and it is. Going to try FCO-FRA-PHL-SEA now I guess...

Take the whole package if it works for you; why select individual segments and give orbitz the opportunity to screw up the pricing?

orbitz can't find any flights if i do 4 segs and specify USair, but they come up individually if i search all airlines. the packages don't work because they come out to $1890

Even the folks in Crystal City are eventually going to realize that this fare is not going to be very helpful in escaping Chapter 11....

i WOULD book it, except i can't get that!! I only tried specifying that fare because it didn't find the usair flights for FCO-PHL. i must be doing something wrong, because i'm putting in the 4 segs and the lowest price is coming it an $161. WHAT in the WORLD am I doing wrong here???
