1)Use expedia.com or itn.net
2)DO NOT CHOOSE the PHL-FCO/FCO-PHL segments, choose PHL-MUC-FCO or something like that. You'll need to specify a 4 segment multi-city flight to do this. Specify:
SEA-PHL
PHL-FCO
FCO-PHL
PHL-SEA
3)Pay attention to the fare rules. You cannot depart after 31 March, you must not return earlier than 6 days after departure, you must travel on the weekend, you cannot travel during the Christmas holidays

look in feb
Feb 20-26 works on aa.com
march might be better option,
this froom Frommers
April to June and late September to October are the best months for traveling in Italy--temperatures are usually mild and the crowds aren't quite so intense. Starting in mid-June, the summer rush really picks up, and from July to mid-September the country teems with visitors. August is the worst month: Not only does it get uncomfortably hot, muggy, and crowded, but the entire country goes on vacation at least from August 15 to the end of the month--and many Italians take off the entire month. Many hotels, restaurants, and shops are closed (except at the spas, beaches, and islands, which are where 70% of the Italians head). From late October to Easter, most attractions go on shorter winter hours or are closed for renovation. Many hotels and restaurants take a month or two off between November and February, spa and beach destinations become padlocked ghost towns, and it can get much colder than you'd expect (it might even snow).

Florence -- BOOKED on USAirways.com
After struggling with this for a little while (thanks to Spiff and others who offered suggestions), I just booked Florence for Feb 12 - Feb 18 on USAirways.com, $250 all in. I will use FF miles to go from PHL to SEA, so I come out neutral on FF miles and have a great start towards Elite requalification in '05 (plus I get the second weekend in Seattle!)
Use the multicity search with SEA-PHL-FLR-PHL-SEA and then choose these flights:
7:45A Depart Seattle/Tacoma, WA (SEA)
3:39P Arrive Philadelphia, PA (PHL) 12 Feb 05
US Airways flight 6
8:20P Depart Philadelphia, PA (PHL)
10:25A Arrive Munich, Germany (MUC) 12 Feb 05
13 Feb 05 US Airways flight 14
11:05A Depart Munich, Germany (MUC)
12:25P Arrive Florence, Italy (FLR) 13 Feb 05
Lufthansa flight 4074 operated by LUFTH CITYLINE
8:55A Depart Florence, Italy (FLR)
10:20A Arrive Munich, Germany (MUC) 18 Feb 05
Lufthansa flight 4079 operated by LUFTH CITYLINE
12:30P Depart Munich, Germany (MUC)
4:00P Arrive Philadelphia, PA (PHL) 18 Feb 05
US Airways flight 15
7:00P Depart Philadelphia, PA (PHL)
10:07P Arrive Seattle/Tacoma, WA (SEA) 18 Feb 05
US Airways flight 115
