Avianca has dropped in price of flights between Miami, Florida and Rio de Janeiro in September to $310 roundtrip. You can also find this price scattered across a few other dates on the calendar. Keep in mind that the lowest fares won't earn mileage in Lifemiles or United MileagePlus.

If you want to earn miles with United you'll want a U or T fare code, which is currently $482 roundtrip.

On a few dates in Sep - Nov you can fly Cathay Pacific from Boston to Australia (Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane) for $1285 - $1410 in economy. I will admit some of the dates require quite a long stay, but I have found a few shorter stays.

If you credit these flights to American you won't receive a single mile, unfortunately. These book into the Q and N fare codes, but AA only awards miles to some of Cathay Pacific's most expensive fare classes - https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...ay-pacific.jsp

NYC-MCO round trip select dates in May and June is $109 round trip.

I had MCO-NYC booked twice on JetBlue points, and today I found $101 one-way tickets on AA via CLT for both of my dates. One of them has a 40-minute connection in CLT to the last flight of the evening, so I am very much hoping to get stuck for the night and a free hotel room.

I have gotten stuck there before and there was no free hotel room. There were cots all over the airport until they ran out. This was on United however.

On May 2 & May 3 fly across the country from JFK to LAX on Alaska Air for as little as $101 roundtrip on a basic economy ticket!

May 2nd you can fly the reverse - LAX to JFK for $101 roundtrip if you're based in California.

Looking at ITA Matrix those are the only two days this fare is available on a single-day turn. If I wasn't taking PTO that Friday and another day the following week already, I'd take a day off and do this. This is cheaper than pandemic mileage runs.

Yeah, it's sad how much the main cabin fare is after seeing how low that basic fare is

! I was shocked! I thought I might be able to use it for an AA Loyalty Points run, but at over $400 that doesn't work out! It sure is a deal though! Never seen a cross country flight so cheap!
