Ah didn't see the restriction for NA flights only. False alarm, nothing to see here folks. Thanks izzik.

First Class for the price of Business (UA/LH)

Was fare hunting for April since LH announced their Easter Fare specials, and as is typical, the First class fares have come down significantly. Finding many options on UA.com from US to Germany for $5000-$5500 and some options are on LH metal. I know its not necessarily a great mileage run deal, but anytime you can fly first for the price of C can't be a bad deal.

Some nice biz fares ex CAI, all alliances to various N American ports. (NOT confined to MS, alcoholics welcome). All-in return in the $2k range, possibilities for a far-flung stopover in Europe and/or open jaw.

Example: CAI-IAH-CAI $2042 on BA; CAI-PHX-CAI $2,530 on LH / CO / BD.

Possible extra savings for the riddle-talkers and funny handshakes in the "tricks" thread, and for DC members a rare last chance to actually fly on BMI for the CAI-LHR sectors.

I just looked at the LH fare. Routes are somewhat limited but CAI-LHR would be nice, indeed.
When looking for a MR CAI-BKK/SIN/CGK in Z would be better, though.

CAI-DXB-SFO on EK is $2,444, e.g., 02/10-02/17. Nice EK run and chance to experience the ultra-long flight.

AF only flies 380 to New York, Johannesburg, Montreal, Washington, DC. Quantas via LHR was much higher than AF or KLM fares. KL doesn't fly.

Didn't find a match on LH on their 380 flights via SIN or NRT. Was looking for Star Alliance matches (LH, Swiss, Thai) but haven't found anything matching AF and KL. Best on Star Alliance thus far was Thai from Paris-Syd Biz RT for 3518 euro.

Hope to see more matching options...

And what about AMS-BKK? (also ZPRNL) Base fare € 1259!
Including taxes around € 1587

Tempting...
