Delecee on the northside (Irving Park and Southport, NE corner two doors north) is excellent, did Mother's day there for years growing up a couple blocks away. It's a family sort of place and you have to make reservations on holiday type days (and probably every Sunday given how packed it always looks when I walk by). Other meals there are pretty good as well, parking is a pain although on a non Cubs game day you can likely find something back in the side streets NW of it. No parking back there on a Cubs night game without an LV2 sticker though.

Four Seasons

My vote for Sunday brunch is the Four Seasons in 900 N Michigan. I have been there twice now, and even though it is frightfully expensive, it is also extravagant. Both times we had excellent service and the food was hot, fresh, and tasty as well. Highlights included the desserts and the fish.

They panned Bongo Room (1470 N Milwaukee, 773.489.0690) stating they love the stuffed French toast but not enough to put up with the wait and surly service.
Mrs. Mikey likes it and I love the Bongo room, and have many times put up with long waits and service that's just this side of surly. Banana pancakes and the Chocolate Tower rule. Omelets are pretty good.

However, it's not the big brunch buffet that you may find at the Drake and other hotels.

In Orange's opening week, I took Mrs. Mikey likes it (pre-marriage) and, separately, some other girl there on consecutive days.

'Twas that good.

Now, I make breakfast for the family. Appealing in its own way.

I don't get it. Can somebody explain the attraction of this place?

I still have yet to do this !!

Back to the thread:
I recently went to a good Sunday brunch at Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg. Not cheap but worth it for the once in awhile brunch splurge.

I've had a couple of very good breafasts recently in Chicago, so I'd like to share.

Longman & Eagle, I had duck hash with duck eggs, more please !!!

Lula's Cafe
This morning sat outside as it was beautiful, they serve some good breakfast cocktails, I had a soft shell crab w/bacon breakfast sandwich. Delicious^
Mrs Sweet Willie enjoyed the strada of ham, goat cheese & spinach.

A few years ago I had the ultimate brunch in the Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago. Not your father's hotel brunch.

Hearty Boys is still good: have not been to HOB Brunch yet, but if it is anything close to B.B. King's in NYC, then it is great fun.
