k, I have a layover for about 2 hours, at O'hare, next week I will be coming in on NW in Terminal 2, so I probably going to stroll the airport. So what do I need to do, so I don't mess up???

Is there a map online of O'Hare.

Huh?? How do you get from T3 to T1/T2 WITHOUT going through flight connections AFTER you have gone through T3 screening????</font>
It's right by the G (American Eagle) concourse. Hallway goes to T2. If you keep walking through T2, you can get to T1.

One place to be careful. When heading over to T1, as you go through the walkway, you'll need to hang a left to the B concourse. If you go straight to baggage claim, you'll be exiting security. All the exits out of security are pretty well marked IMO, so it's not a big deal. If you're walking past a place that there's a TSA agent sitting and no one is walking the other way, you're probably going the wrong way http://www.flyertalk.com/airports/ft...orum/smile.gif

United also is now advertising an "Express Bus" from the C concourse to the F concourse. It appears to leave from gate C-9. Haven't walked down there to see how it works, but if you have some time to kill between flights, it may save you a few steps -- although I expect that you're climbing stairs at each end of the trip.

Look for the signs throughout the C concourse and at the top of the escalator to the tunnel to the B concourse.

I have never had to wait long for security lines at O'Hare.

The airside terminal connections are fairly simple if you know where to look. The way out of most mazes is to always turn left (or right - pick one direction and stick with it); it's the same at O'Hare. When you see a security area ahead, look to the left (or right) and there should be a route to the next terminal. This works both airside and landside.

You may want to check the date on the post referencing long lines...

Doesn't work landside, there is no connection between the terminals landside, only airside on the departure levels. Otherwise you gotta take the tram or walk outside.

FALSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coming from your AC flight, stick to the left, you will not have to go through security again. Always think left coming from T2

Yes, you're right - that's what the tram was built for. Duh.

Yes, and the tram is *so* efficient when one needs to go from T2 to T1.

Thanks for dredging up old posts!

Don't forget there's also now the shuttle bus from gate E3 (T2) to C9 (T1). If one's flight is leaving from the C Concourse that may be a preferable option, especially if short on connection time.

Help on terminal transfer

I am flying from bombay to charlotte in july...my itenary is Bombay-Frankfurt-chicago-charlotte.
Bombay to chicago is entirely on Lufthansa and chicago to Charlotte is on United airlines....
At Chicago the Lufthansa flight arrives at terminal 5 and the next domestic flight is at terminal 1..I wanted to know if i have to carry my checked in baggage from terminal 5 to terminal 1 on my own or will it be transfered by airport authorities after the customs check at terminal 5...

PS:I have almost 4 hours between the 2 connecting flights...

There's not much traffic here. If you don't get a response soon, I suggest you post this question in the United forum.
