Looks like AC3349 is a code share aboard UA2102 which, with the exception of a couple days, has been landing early. UA has arrival/departures from T1 and T2 and AC departs from T2, so it's all connected behind security. Today's AC500 departed from gate E2, so I'd expect no more than a fifteen minute walk (or faster if you have a good pace) if you came into Concourse C. If you land from LAS on the B Concourse, it's a pretty easy walk.
https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ua2102 If all goes well, you should have no problem making the connection. If it's all on one ticket, you would be accommodated on the next available flight to YYZ (either AC or UA operated). |
How difficult of walk from ORD terminal 2 to terminal 1 (for slower walking adult)
We are two seniors ( 76 and 71) with a couple of physical issues, my wife is awaiting a knee replacement after our return and I have a muscle disease that slows my walking somewhat. We both are able to walk, just concerned about the time restraints.
Outbound, very late Oct, ROC UA 4521, 1 hour 5 minutes, likely arriving terminal 2 and 1 hr, 5 minutes and then likely flying out of terminal 1 for UA 2853 to PDX. Arriving in ORD at 2:55pm Return, in mid Nov, PDX UA 1335 to ORD with 1 hour, 6 minutes arriving in ORD at 4:55pm to connect to UA1430 back to ROC. Likely reverse of above going from terminal 1 to terminal 2. Looking forward to flying the CRJ 550 and the A321Neo on our outbound I have wheelchairs currently requested, but I don't know if we are better off walking than riding in wheelchairs timewise. I understand this is a rather obtuse question and we have flown in and out of ORD many times, but it usually was all in Terminal 1 |
Couple of variables. The arrival/departure gates, how fast/slow you can both walk, and where you are sitting on the arriving flight. The first two relate to walking. The worst case scenario can make the connection very close… assuming you arrive on time.
The wheelchair option depends, imho, on where you are seated. My spouse requires a chair for the same sort of reasons. Due to this, we always fly F/J, so are first or second off a/c. At T-3, we have often found the number of waiting chairs to be only half of what is needed. At T-1/2, I’m afraid our experiences have been worse. Twice, no chairs. But wait was less than 5 mins. That said, the chair is, in all probability, going to get you there much faster than walking, and is the option we would choose. Hope this helps. |

If they take me, would they ask me to pay anything? Thanks |

Ended up booking a later flight to YYZ with a layover of 2h17min in ORD:

Best way to get from T1/2 to T3 at ORD? Got 4 hours to go from a UA flight to a BA flight. Collect checked bags and re-check in on BA. Cheap F fare to LHR/CDG. FF miles to ORD.

You can take the ATS train, too: follow directions to Terminals 2/3/5 and the Rental Car Center. |

It's an easy, 10 min max walk, even with luggage. Carts are available to rent, if you have a lot of bags. The arrivals level is covered for the most part.
You can take the ATS train, too: follow directions to Terminals 2/3/5 and the Rental Car Center. If you want to explore Chicago just a tad after rechecking bags, you could take the blue line to Wicker Park (~30 mins), and get a quick-ish lunch. Follow the signs for "trains to city". Just tap a credit card at the turnstile. |
I'll add a third vote that the train doesn't make sense between T1, T2, and T3 unless you have a mobility issue or extremely heavy bags.
It's mainly intended to get *from* the core terminals to T5 and parking etc, not for transit within the core terminals. |
