Help -Viewing planes from a O'Hare hotel

My son and I take an annual trip to Chicago every year and we stay at the O'Hare Hyatt Regency for a couple nights. My son has Spina-Bifida and is in a wheelchair most of the time. His biggest thrill is sitting on the balcony up high and facing the airport while watching the jets fly directly over us. We've taken this trip about 6 consecutive years now, but the last couple have been a bit of a disappointment. Problems like terrible food, higher prices, parking and occasional issues with staff. My question to all you wonderful folks...Is there another hotel with the amenities we prefer? Viewing the planes on a balcony? We stay there because we know what we have, it would be awesome to find something better. I appreciate any help. We plan on taking our trip in July or August.
Thanks,
Jim and Ben

I'd almost say the O'Hare Intercontinental. It's north of 28C and 28R and it faces ORD. Either way, you'll get them arriving or departing.

Reach out to them and explain what you're looking for. They might be able to help.

Since you haven't gotten many responses, you might want to Google O'Hare planespotting hotel. I looked at some of the results, and one mentioned a high floor at the Hilton, but I'm sure you'll find other first-hand recommendations from spotters. It seems as if a hotel along South Mannheim Road might be good, too.

August

If you are there in August, you might want to consider time for the Air and Water Show...it's great:

I stay at the Hilton, great views of the tarmac right from the room. It's a decent hotel too for what that's worth:
