Thanks for all the advice...before I knew that 363 was going to be late, I had the GA put me on the morning flight to avoid stress and hang out with friends in Manhattan. On my flight this morning I got my very first op-up. ^ Yay!

Not sure which airport you are talking about, but IAD doesn't have any "golf carts" for travelers. In fact, the only golf carts in the C/D concourses are used by the police and I don't believe they are allowed to pick up hitch-hikers.

Moot point now, but are you sure about that? I could have sworn I have seen AirServ employees carting around senior citizens at IAD.

One thing to watch out for with the mobile lounges is that they can be delayed due to aircraft sitting on the tarmac outside the mobile lounge access ports.
I was recently in IAD, spent too long at Vino Volo, and had to hustle butt over to the A terminal. Ran into this situation. Several pax were getting stressed out about the lack of any mobile lounge movement. Finally did catch the craft, and made it to A1 (as far away as it gets!). What a &**( zoo that gate is, BTW. Boarded OK (although as last F cabin passenger, I had to find overhead space back in coach for my bags).
Moral of the story: don't rely on the ML's running on-time...

Connecting in IAD
Flying YYZ-IAD-ORF.
Does anyone know which concourse I fly into and leave from? I'm assuming I don't need to clear security as I am connecting to another flight.

No security transfer, you'll probably fly into and out of the A terminal, which is not a very nice place, but at least you shouldn't have far to go.
Sorry that you're flying to ORF, it's an ugly airport. Between ORF and IAD Terminal A, unpleasant but gets the job done.

No security required and you would have already went through customs in YYZ.
I have seen Many of the YYZ flights land into the C/D gates. There is also a number of UX flights that leave from C/D but I believe ORF always leaves from A.
But if you arrive in C/D take get on the mobile lounge that is farthest to the right which will take you to the A gates.
If your YYZ-IAD flight is AC you WILL land in C

Does the moon buggy from D to A have limited hours? It looks like I will need to do the trek this weekend from mainline to UX (unless, by miracle, they will use a C/D gate).
TIA.
TIA.

I want to say that A-->C is all hours, A-->D is during peak cxn times. I'm flying through there tomorrow morning, LGA-IAD-MCO, I'll try to remember to check and repost...

They were designed decades ago from one of the world's leading modern architects. So now, we travelers are living inside art.
As for entry exit, the answer is only partially correct. When you are coming from the security area, you enter on one side and depart from the other. When you are coming back from an international flight to customs, you exit the SAME side that you came in. That's why you see the less experienced travelers going to the back and the more experienced travelers and flight crew gathering at the entry doors.
This sometimes causes problems when it is very crowded as people do not want to lose their spot near the entry doors because it can cause an additional wait at customs.
Happy flying!

Thanks for checking; this confirms what I remember (that D to A only operates during certain hours). I have a two hour connect, so that should give me ample time to walk from D to C and hit one of the RCC along the way.

That's not always true. Sometimes IAD uses the single-entry/exit mobile lounges, normally used to transport pax to the international arrivals building, on the C/D to A or C/D to baggage claim routes. That happened to me on Monday. The way to tell the difference between the mobile lounges is that only the single-entry/exit lounges have seating in the center of the lounge. The dual-entry/exit lounges only have seating along the windows.

Very very very soon, this mostly becomes a mute issue.
C->A and A->C will be by AeroTrain
D->A and A->D will be by Mobile Lounge
D->Main Terminal and Main Terminal->D will be by Mobile Lounge
C->B and B->C will be by AeroTrain (think LH Lounge) steps to the Lounge
