Suggestions for Los Cabos area?
Does anyone have any good, reasonably priced suggestions for the Los Cabos area? We will have a rental car, so range isn't a problem. Thanks in advance.

Range really is not an issue, you either go to San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas or eat at the hotels (or sometimes a Palapa next to one).
I like the Trailer Park at La Golandria, but it is not inexpensive. There are the usual suspects on the main street in Cabo, but have never been impressed with them. That said, there is a side street near the supermercado as one enters Cabo San Lucas from the North. It is not far past the Pemex on the main highway. Turn right and it is on the left side of this street. Cannot unfortunately remember its name and I do not know if they take credit cards, but it is excellent. It seems that it was called "Marisco" something and is an open air building right on the sidewalk.
A side note is that the Cabo area is expensive. You can always rent a condo with kitchen facilities and shop at the SuperMercade, but try to buy non-imported products as they are much cheaper.
In San Jose del Cabo, there are a number of restaurants around the central square. Some are excellent.
Sorry this post is not more definitive. Now as me about Puerto Vallarta and it will be more definitive. You might also try a search in this forum and Starwood.

Thanks for the feedback. Just got back from our Jan 1 to 7 trip. Great weather and super-nice people in Cabo, by the way. Since we took our 18 month old daughter we ended up playing it safe and eating all of our meals at the Hilton. If you are frugal like I the deli on the timeshare side of the resort has $4.50 boxed lunches.

Haven't been looking at dining for a while. Please give me a couple of days to retrieve the PV info and I will post it.
One restaurant is in Saululitas (about 30 miles north of PVD in Nararit. Turn off the main highway and go into town 3km. Go to the end of this road to the center of the little town. There is a street leading to the beach. The restaurant is on the left directly on the Beach. It is excellent, but unfortunately is also expensive. Definitely worth it IMHO.

Hate that I got in on this discussion so late. We love Cabo. We also love the following restaurants: Ole'Ole', Pancho's, and Mocambo's. We're going back in May of this year, so if anyone has any suggestions for new places to try, we'd love it. e

My Wife and I have been to Cabo San Lucas about 8 times in the last 10 yrs. Just went in Nov with our 1yr old. As for food, it wouldn't be a trip to cabo san lucas without having breakfast at "The Office". It is on the water along the main playa (thats beach to the loacals) right as you come into town. You cant miss it! Your table is literally in the sand about 20 ft from the bay. The Chorizo and eggs is divine. Partnered with a Tres Generaciones margarita will make you forget you are usually on your way to work at such an early hour.
Also, if you have a condo or room with a kitchen and don't want to pay $10 for drinks at the resort or eat out the entire time, don't forget your Costco card. The costco has cheap liquor and all the fixins that our US stores have. We usually go and grab foodstuffs for our lunches and snacks (read margaritas) then do our dinners out. Really saves some $$. Just my $.02
