I got the email and just registered. I guess I'm unique enough and was included.

I got it yesterday as well and joined. I hope this is a legitimate call for feedback, because I have a few responses to share before they decide they have enough of MY demographic

I'm done with Marriott... I'm going to do a status match with another chain... here's the response I received from their "customer care" team to my concern re: their wasting my time with this program only to un-invite me:
"Thank you for your message regarding the Marriott Voice survey team. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
We apologize that you have not been contacted regarding your survey response. While the contents of your survey are not available to the Internet Customer Care team, we would be pleased to offer assistance and ensure that your concerns are brought to the attention our development group.
My Marriott Voice is an exclusive group of Marriott Rewards members who want to provide input and insights to shape the future of Marriott. Panel members have the opportunity to share their opinions and experiences about the most current and important areas related
to Marriott's products and services.
Although, the invitation you received was from Marriott, another third-party service provider actually administers the survey on our behalf. Please know that your comments are taken seriously and will be reviewed by people who can make changes to this process.
We appreciate your loyalty as a Marriott Platinum member and welcome any additional comments that you have about the matter in the future. Thank you for choosing Marriott."
Amazing anyone in corporate thinks this is a good way to handle this...those of us who fill out the survey who are uninvited should receive a message like "Thank you for your participation in our survey. At this time we have received enough responses from other customers. As a thank you for your time however, we will be depositing x miles in your Marriott Rewards Account. Thank you for your continued loyalty blah blah..."

I'm surprised that anyone would be bent because they didn't qualify for "Voice" forum. Like any research panel, it needs a diverse but statistically representative sample group. Many people on FT have very similar travel patterns. A whole lot of us (comparatively) in the sample would skew the results.
An invitation is not an entitlement.

I didn't intend to imply that I want compensation or points. I really don't. I was suggesting a more customer-friendly way to handle the turn downs than "you didn't meet our demographic need."
I think the assumption should be that all customers are very busy tending to work and family, and many are traveling most of the time. I don't think this is a good way to handle an outreach to supposedly improve their reputation / standing with customers.

It did ring a bit hollow to receive an email that read: "We've hand-selected you to be part of our initial launch because you are a valued Marriott customer. Your opinion matters to us!"
Uh, no. Apparently it doesn't.

I am just wondering if anyone has been asked to take part in a survey. I signed up and was accepted but have not heard from them since that day.

I was invited to take part in one recently - I'm a little annoyed, in fact. I completed an online questionnaire and it informed me that I was selected - it even gave me two timeslots during which I'd participate in a 90 minute teleconference.
Then, two days before the teleconference, I get an email that I was "waitlisted". It just seemed disrespectful and sloppy.
I believe part of the issue is that it was being co-coordinated with Visa. The content of the survey was more about the Visa Signature card than it was hotels. So I don't blame this one on Marriott Voice...but somewhere in the marketing department of Marriott or Visa, they have contracted with a third-party that doesn't seem to be able to organize these things well.

I received one of the emails inviting me to participate, followed instructions and filled out the survey (several screens-worth as I recall.
Got to the final screen and completed it, entered and nothing happened.
I waited several minutes and in the absence of any direction I closed the screen.
I then received a message (with a Marriott logo that said that I had "timed out".
Go figure.
