For the first time since making plat. I didn't receive the highest bonus and MR wouldn't change it for me. Told Marriott Concierge and here's his response:
"As you are a valued Platinum Elite member, I have made a note on your account for the requested Fall Mega Bonus offer. I will watch your account throughout the earning period and post any additional points at the end of the promotion. You must stay 25 nights between September 15, 2008 and January 15, 2009 to receive the 50,000 points."

I e-mailed Marriott Concierge per the suggestions above, and he quickly rectified the situation -- thanks! ^^

I just got my 20 nights/35,000 points changed to 25 nights/50,000 points. (I am a Plat Prem)
Also I have had problems with visa debit cards not being recognised, but the nights have now been added manually.

No Mega Bonus - Non VISA
I am a Platinum member and cannot qualify for the Mega Bonus since my company requires I use the MasterCard credit card. I did register for the promotion in September but my company requires I use only mastercard.
I contacted Marriott 1 month ago about needing to add Mastercard as a mega bonus option but was blown off by a Customer Service focal.
maybe Marriott Concierge can review this promotional inequity and try to help me qualify.
I have just stayed at Marriott 3 times for 33 total days since October 1, 2008, but do not qualify for the Mega Bonus sicne I charged with Mastercard.

Out of 21 nights, so far, the Marriott Promotion Tracker only shows 17 qualified nights. When I checked the bill emails sent out, two stays with two nights each [equaling 4 nights, right] have a line on the bill that states AMEX $0.00 and VISA $xxx.xx (some number). I always check in with AMEX and changes to VISA/GiftCard when checking out.
According to this, it seems that if there are any traces of non-VISA cards on the bill, then it does NOT count. I had to manually credit those nights in order for them to count.

Does this work anymore?

I think if the AMEX is showing as the card at the top of the bill, this is the card the bill is settled to, even if the amount is $0.00. You have to tell the clerk at checkout that you want it settled to a different card.

I was on the 3stays for 5k promo, but I have a couple of one week stays and phoned the plat line, asking to be switching to the 50k for 20nights promo. This was refused, but the CSR offered me a 25k for 16nights instead of my original promo.
She quoted that the number of nights I have stayed this year didn't justify the 50k promo. I'm still happy as I'm on a 18 night promo before 12/31 to requalify as plat. Not bas since I had only stayed 15 nights before this...
Should make it but may need to do a hotel run to get two night cheaply somewhere.

Totally forgot about this one and even with a full week next week, I'll only get to 19 of the 20 needed for the 35k I was preregistered for. As a PLT, is it possible to DOWNGRADE to 25K for 15 nights? Thanks

It has been my experience as a Marriott Plat that if you call up the Platinum Customer Service Line, they will make a manual note to your account & set you up with whatever MegaBonus Promo will get you the most points. Its definitely worth a quick phone call to the Platinum line.
Goodluck!

Some math
Assumption: 1 point equals 1 cent
Hotel taxes: 10%
Status: Platinum (15 pp$)
Concatenated on exiting stay (otherwise add 500 points for platinum arrival gift)
==>Then break even is about $105/night
(plus the value of an extra night credit)
$105*15 = 1,575 points
Extra megabonus points 10,000
Total MR points = 11,575 @ $0.01 = $115.75
Total Cost = $105*(1+10% tax) = $115.5
