I found a cheaper rate at a 3rd party site for The Cosmopolitan , Las Vegas, NV at an upcoming stay thoguh only by $3/night (for a $9 total). Would you say it hurts me more to file this type of claim (upgrades etc) rather than leaving it alone since there's such a low gain?

The gain isn't $3/night; the gain is the lower rate -25%. So, for example, if you have a rate of $150/night and the 3rd party website has a rate of $147/night, your ajusted rate in the case of a successful LNF claim would be $110.25, a saving of nearly $40 on your original rate.

Remember, though, that your claim must be made within 24 hours of your reservation. So, if it's been more than 24 hours and your rate is cancellable, just cancel the original booking, make a new one and file the claim based on the new booking.

Upcoming weekend stay in New Orleans

Hoping the BOGO coupons come out. In any event, looking for a LNF rate for New Orleans. Preference would be one of the two hotels on Canal Street (either the FS Marriott or the JW Marriott), which are $194 and $179, respectively. Dates are July 8 - July 10 (this weekend). Thanks so much for your assistance!!!!

I did score that LNF rate for the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, but they took away my package breakfast as a result (which was at the same price as the regular room rate). Seeing how I saved $32/night it wasn't much of a trade.

Thanks so much for your assistance Twickenham! I booked with Marriott over the phone and they said they will honor the BOGO (hopefully the coupon becomes available, or this will otherwise become an after-the-fact battle). I booked the following at the Marriott at 555 Canal New Orleans, July 8 to July 10:

Great Summer Rates, includes 20 pct discount off in room dining or restaurant, coupon book upon arrival, see Rate RulesStarting From 174.00 (USD)
.
174.00 (USD) per night Rate rules
View Room, Guest room, 1 King or 2 Double, City or River view Room details

Hopefully I can find this somewhere else in advance to save some additional off the first night's rate, but in any event, $174 for two nights is not unfair.
