"Las Vegas: 12.21 - 12.27, Either Renaissance $87 or Courtyard Las Vegas Convention Center $80"

Would you not better going for b2g1f offer at the Renaissance. Works out at $69 per night.

Should not the second line start with Orlando.

Can anybody share some good websites that often produce good rates? Also, how much in advance is a good time to check?

i typicaly use kayak, hotelscombined, com. through those 2 i can look at multiple sites and in my region lnf rates have typically been found on reservetravel.com. I start looking for lnf rates while deciding my travel plans as sometimes i can get a Marriott for less than springhill or courtyard. Good luck

Couple of suggestions:

1) Be flexible with your hotel. If you want to stay at a FS Marriott in say, Washington D.C., but only focus in on finding a rate a couple of properties, you may have a tough time. Expand your search to the dozens of FS properties in the D.C. area and you'll likely find at least one that is LNF eligible.

2) Be flexible with dates. Example: I'm in Atlanta and know I want to take a weekend vacation to Mobile, AL next Spring. I'll check prices on multiple weekends to increase my odds of finding an LNF rate.

3) Be persistent. Check multiple sites at multiple times. Sometimes some websites will offer sale fares that last 24 or 48 hours on a hotel so you have to act fast. Sometimes cheaper rates will be available well in advance of a stay, and sometimes you find them just a few days ahead of time.

Be sure to check out the http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...successes.html thread to see if folks have had success at a location you're interested in. If so, shoot them a PM.

NYC Marriott Courtyard East

Any LNF help for:

Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East

12/23/10 - 12/27/10
1 King room, 4 nights
$175/night
$817.25 total

A good starting rate, but lower is better! I don't have flexibility in location or dates.

I also picked up 10%-off gift card offer here:
http://boardingarea.com/blogs/points...vacation-club/

Thanks in advance.

NYC Courtyard East

Ok, I'll try again.

I have a reservation at Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East.

12/23/10 to 12/27/10
1 king room, 4 nights
175/night
$817.25 total

Is there a better rate for LNF? Thanks ahead for the help.

Also, I bought one 10%-off gift card from here:

I would also recommend checking the discount online sites such as priceline to see what deal you can get with them.

You can also get 10% off gift cards and airline miles on either Delta or USAirways. This would require that you purchase at least $1000 so you would need to be able to use that amount to be worth the entire 10% off. But anything charged to the room could be paid by the gift card. The links are below. Using a Marriott credit card for the purchase would also get you 5pts/$.

Dear milesrunner,

as I have some time to kill, I offer you some assistance:
  • Re-Read Marriott Look No Further® Best Rate Guarantee T & C
  • If done, you will realize that we need lowest publicly available rate for the same hotel, reservation dates, and room type. BAR for Courtyard New York Manhattan/Midtown East (King) is $ 219 and I did not find a comparison rate that qualifies for BRG claim.
  • If you are flexible and Courtyard New York Manhattan/Fifth Avenue (Weekend Rate for double bed: $ 219) fits your needs, I am able to PM you a third party travel provider that offers that room for $ 186/night which brings LNF rate down to $ 139.5.

PM if interested.

Read T and C and was even more confused on my question.....

I found a "Senior Rate" which i'm no where near a "senior" age. Can I book this rate and place a LNF claim?

No. The rate is not 'publicly available' as not everyone can use it.

Smart Shopper Dec 12, 2010 12:50 pm

From T&C (bolding is mine):

The guarantee does not apply to the following rate types:

Discount rates offered only to members of groups or individuals who meet previously-specified criteria, including AAA members, seniors, government employees, or Marriott Rewards members.

Thanks Smart Shopper. I have not read the rules in a while and I let 24 hours get by. Not a big deal this time, the AAA rate is not too bad.

If the LNF opportunity is still there, just book another room and submit a claim. If approved, cancel the original one. If not cancel the second and stick with the first.

I'm doing some research and was hoping for a little help.

I'd like to book the Renaissance in Plantation, FL (FLL) for Jan 28 - 30 2011.

The standard leisure rate is $166.95. I did find a rate of $133 at a known LNF match site. If anyone thinks I can do better, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi,

had great success at most places lately but this seems to be a hard one:

Looking for Renaissance AMS March 25th - 27th. Couldn't find anything at usual suspects. € 149 prepaid rate, €169 weekend rate on marriott.com.
Marriott AMS would be an alternative, € 169 prepaid rate, €189 weekend rate.

Many thanks!
