Sick at a Courtyard

I stayed at the Pittsburgh Airport Courtyard this week. I ordered roomservice. Later that night I got really sick. I called the hotel after I checked out this morning to tell them how sick I had gotten. The front desk clerk said she would tell the kitchen staff but never asked my name or what symtoms I felt or even what I ate.
I do not expect anything from Marriott I travel enough that I know those are just things that can happen.
My concern was that they seemed not to really care and more people could get sick.
What else should I have done???

I know I should have talked to them before I left but I felt rotten and had a 6 AM flight. So at 5 AM I was in no mood to talk.

That's entirely understandable. Hope you are better now.

Slightly off Topic, but can I brag about a hotel?

<BRAG>
A few weeks ago my family was at a Rennaisance Hotel. We went to Disney and my wife and 2 kids got terrible food poisioning at dinner (which I missed). I called down to get replacement linens.

The night guy came up with replacements and took the soiled. Later several staff members followed up to be certain everyone was alright. Several in management wanted to be certain it wasn't the hotel (as I had ordered room service that night).

Before it was over, they had sent up crackers and soup. They got us the next room (on the house) so we could have two bathrooms. Oh, and the guy who brought linens, did so SEVERAL time that night, and always came with a smile.

I can honestly say, these guys did more than I could have ever asked. Some I didn't even realize until well after the fact. (hey I was distracted with all the sicky's).

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I hope you wrote a letter or email commending them - this is above and beyond and quite impressive.

Agreed...Yes letters were written, and other jestures were provided. Talk about a spirit to serve. That to me is the service I think about when I think Marriott, Not some of the other crap (pardon the association with sickness ;-) we have been seeing floated our way recently.

I had a similar experience at the Marriott Phuket Beach Club where they took fantastic care of me even though I had been poisoned elsewhere (the Holiday Inn bar).

Boy you're lucky. I stayed at the Renaissance Pere Marquette in New Orleans a few weeks ago and I got horrible food poisoning from a place on Bourbon Street. I called the front desk to see about having someone bring some soup and crackers up along with some gatorade and was told "it wasn't their problem." Security did come up to make sure I was still alive, which was nice.

Maybe having lots of people be sick helped?
