Extra pillows and towels - does anyone ever get them?

Like probably many of you, I have a standing request on my Marriott profile for extra feather pillow and extra towels. I sometimes get extra towels, but I never, ever -- even at Ritz-Carlton or J.W. Marriott properties -- get the extra pillows. Every hotel always has four pillows for a king bed.

Does anyone ever actually get this request fulfilled?

Lucky you. I'm at 130 nights, excluding bonus nights, and I've had the extra pillows attached to each reservation. Never once have I received more than four. Ever.

I ask for extra towels, but not extra pillows. On stays of more than one night, the extra towels are often there at check-in, but extras are never left after that. On nights two and beyond, it's back to a bath towel, a face towel and, if I'm lucky, a wash cloth.

No luck to it as in my earning LTP status I can only recall a handful of props that didnt initially provide the extra pillows requested via my profile.

This is not the first, nor do I expect it to be the last of your critical post of Marriott props and services. If youre not satisfied there are OTHER options.

My experience had matched yours, until a recent stay at a Delta (Victoria BC) where I received extra towels and pillows. Of course by the next day, housekeeping had actually removed unused towels to leave me with the standard issue 2 towels. :-/

I got extra towels and a pillow at the circle quay in Sydney on the weekend, along with early check in and late check it, all requested via the app

Mobile check in worked like a champ as well , and the Marriott club serves breakfast on weekends not a coupon for the main restaurant.

Really great spot

Its hit and miss whether I get the extra towels (on my profile) too. The past few stays I've requested extra pillows via the app but nothing is in the room on arrival, I've got to call housekeeping.

just contact the hotel directly before your arrival date and request the Pillows and towels you need.

I do always get the extra pillows and towels I need

Sorry, but please indulge me on an extra towel rant...

Am I the only one who cannot stand the holier-than-thou "reuse your towels" signs? The ones that tell me to act like I am at home and reuse their towels? First of all, at home I have piles and piles of towels and almost never use one twice without laundering it. And no, these are not towels stolen from a hotel.... Second, at home I am not charging myself $200/night for lodging.

I'm more offended by the envelopes asking me to tip housekeepers, especially when the room isn't thoroughly clean. It always irks me that hotels don't require housekeepers to wear hair nets.

As to the OP, I too nearly always ask for extra towels and pillows and rarely, if ever receive them (and this goes for either Marriot or Hyatt). If I am staying more than a few nights, I will usually run into the housekeeper on the first night, or leave a nice note, and at most -good- full service hotels, my request to the housekeeper is honored for the rest of my stay no problems.

Agreed. At home, I use a fresh towel (or two) every shower (often twice a day) and I do a load of towels twice a week (which is the easiest load of laundry to fold there is). At hotels, I expect no less -- hence the extra towels request to begin with.

I put extra foam pillow on my request each time and I've only gotten it once in a Marriott in Fort Collins, CO. It was just on the bed when I went into my room. It wasn't really a foam pillow but it was an extra pillow haha.

So far every single time I see the sign to reuse your towel by hanging them up, they always give me new towels even when I hang them up (Unless they fold them back up again and put them where the new towels are)

Yup it's you. The signs don't bother me. I can re-use or not; my choice.

Cheers.

Going one step farther... And this might just be me...

Housekeepers should change all the towels with every new guest. People sometimes wipe behind the towel while it is still hanging. I've done it before at home when the guest towels look pretty and I know my hands are clean, but how do I know it wasn't done by a previous guest? (And yes, I also have disposable bathroom linen at home so guests have a choice.)

I've made my peace with using the towels hanging in the bathroom, but I wish hotels changed out all the towels every time.
