Residence Inn Anaheim or Anaheim Marriott???
Bumping this to the top to get any further insight into hotel choice. My preference is a full service Marriott but it is a few blocks south of the main gate. Anyone been to the full service Marriott and can provide insight to walking distance? We are doing to the 10K/Half-Marathon weekend over Labor Day and need to pick our hotel. Thanks in advance for help.

Steer clear
The Residence Inn division of Marriott has consistently met our family's needs. The one described earlier sounds like a winner.
Whatever you do, steer clear of the FS Marriott at CSU Fullerton. What a dump.

The FS Marriott is three blocks from the main gate and walkable. A bit further down
Harbor Blvd. is the Marriott Suites property which I prefer. Both Plats/Golds receive a
full breakfast buffet vs the lounge at the FS that can be crowded at times.

I've stayed at the FS Marriott before and used the Anaheim shuttle system. It was just a bit too far for me to walk after walking all day in the park (and this was pre-kids when I lived in San Francisco and was used to lots of walking everywhere). That said, it is technically "walkable," but I prefer to stay in the Fairfield just for location when I'm in Anaheim because I'm really never in the hotel for very long and the nicer digs don't do much for me. It isn't a hotel that you'd walk back and forth to multiple times for an afternoon break or anything, though.

The walking distance from the full-service Anaheim Marriott on Convention Way to the gates into Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure is slightly more than a mile. Most of the walk is on a sidewalk along busy Harbor Blvd.

I guess it depends on how you define the length of a block.
