Disneyland?
 

Looking for the best reward redemption option close to Disneyland next week for a last minute getaway. Preferrably with a free shuttle or walking distance, breakfast. Will have a car, but rather save on parking fees and hassle if possible.

My research shows Fairfield Inn & Suites Anaheim Buena Park/Disney North. Suite upgrade would be a plus (although I'm only silver?)

Townplace Suites (or whatever suite it is) over by Anaheim Stadium.

We have stayed at the Fairfield Anaheim Disneyland Resort. It is within walking distance (a couple blocks to main entrance).

I cannot say about elite benefits as I did not have status at that time.

That property does offer free parking. But since the hotel is not within walking distance the OP would have to use the ART shuttle.

Residence Inn
 

I highly recommend the Residence Inn. It is within a few block walk from the front gate (I was able to do it carrying two kids and I'm not in great shape). It has a free, though relatively low quality breakfast. However, it was perfect for fueling up 6 excited 3-6 year olds prior to entering the park. Also, it is right next to the GardenWalk shopping center, which provided nice alternative dining options to the Park.

I used upgrade certs (a total of an extra 10k points/night) to upgrade to the "penthouse" suites. These are two floor, 4 bedroom suites. We were able to fit two families (shhh!!) in the rooms with plenty of room to spare. They also have free barbecue cookouts a few nights a week.

We have used this property 3-4 times for Disneyland and always enjoyed it.

Free BBQ sounds great! But there's only 3 of us total so i wouldn't wanna waste a upgrade cert...

I would like a separate room for myself since I'm a lite sleeper though. Are their standard award room 2 room suites??

Decisions Decisions

We've also stayed at the Fairfield Inn Anaheim Disneyland location and it's a quick hop across the street and you are right at the entrance to the parks. No car needed at all.

As Plat, they gave us a Disneyland view room, which was nice. They also have Disney themed rooms. I am sure I could have pushed for one but it was not that important to us.

I think (maybe) you're a week early for the CarsLand grand opening? Looks to be fantastic :) Have fun!

Fairfield Fairfield Inn & Suites Anaheim Buena Park/Disney North is not the same as the Fairfield Inn Anaheim Disneyland Resort.

Fairfield's "Buena Park/Disney North" location is around 6 miles from Disneyland. You're looking at driving though Orange County traffic for 6 miles and paying around $15 to park at the Disneyland Resort (followed by a tram or bus ride to the park entrances.

Fairfield's "Disneyland Resort" location is across Harbor Blvd. from the Disneyland Resort. No driving. Keep your car at the Fairfield. There's a crosswalk with a traffic signal so you can cross Harbor Blvd. safely. It's very walkable for most people.

Unfortunately you're not gold. I've stayed at the Anaheim Marriott and its walking distance from Disneyland and the kids enjoyed the breakfast in the concierge lounge.

It should be noted that the Fairfield Inn on Harbor Blvd (Fairfield Inn Anaheim Disneyland Resort) doesn't offer free breakfast. So much for brand consistency! In case that matters to you... But there is a McDonald's and a few other restaurants right nearby.

Also, be aware that this is a very bare bones Fairfield. It is a Marriott Rewards Category 5, but it is nowhere near as nice as most 3s & 4s. Not a good deal for points redemption stays, as rooms can sometimes be had for $109 and $119.

That said, I'd still stay there for the location or if I had points to burn. It is super-close and very walkable. Even more walkable than several of the Disney owned properties! Also consider the Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate, particularly if you have kids and need a little more space. It is the next-closest.

I am late answering but the Residence Inn has become our hotel of choice when going to Disneyland. Despite what a previous poster said breakfast is eggs and waffles and french toast or pancakes, potatos sausage or bacon, toast, bagels, juice, coffee, cereal and more ....I think everyone can find something without a lot of trouble.

It is easy walking distance from the park but if you don't want to do that you can pay for the shuttle bus that has a daily and weekly rate and stops right at the hotel - and for those of you who stay during marathon weekends the shuttle is included :)

I will be staying there again in September...

We buy our tickets at AAA and you get free parking.
