I have to laugh reading this. If you can run the half marathon, you can easily handle the 3-block walk to the parks. (Not laughing at you, but others who might complain about the "distance" one has to walk.) The other thing I'll recommend is their special Disneyland package rate. Typically $269 per night, it includes free self parking and a $100 Disney gift card (unrestricted) per night. That usually makes it the best deal in the house.
